I'm going to have to disagree. Speculating helps in the way that it can give you an idea of what may possibly be happening.

But yes, for the weak people out there, they're going to panic more. I guess I'll stop then Tongue

And yes, yesterday the amount of FUD was unbelievable. I've added so many people to my ignore (the ones who don't really add anything to the discussion).

P.S Crumbs is alright. He trolls/FUDs about 90% of the time but he does add some useful stuff to the discussion... sometimes... in a full moon Roll Eyes

I don't add everyone to my ignore. Only the ones who don't really add anything. I like to listen to both positive/negatives. It's bad to just listen to the positive only.

I have to add one more speculation. Just because I'm twisted.

They got 'em all done yesterday. Sent the first days orders to ship today. Then they all logged in here and watched half the forum have a heart attack while smoking a big spliff.

Hey, it's what I would do Smiley

no one knows and as you can see, customer service is now useless.
Can you Xialla and everyone else stop WHINING LIKE CHILDREN, we're all getting really sick of it.

There are still 3 and a bit more days left in September.

On 1st October, if there is no update, cry all you want.

Until then, stop WHINING. It's very tiresome and unmanly.

I don't get your way of thinking.
Sure we will receive units the next week as it looks like, but there's no whining.
From my point of view it's comprehensible complaints based on obvious disappointments caused by broken promises and shady behavior from KnC.

all those (unexplained) delays - Shipping is now end of September/begin of October - in the beginning it was 'this summer' even with Mars,
we have Friday 27th and still no further infos about exact shipping date but the claim 'on track' - some of us have to book/cancel flights or at least to get a day off from work,
there are some broken promises (video, news an other stuff),
now this shady 'no more refund' policy (because of mass refunds?),
they do not disclose how much they actually ship (hashfast has a transparent public order chain),
their news and customer support became quite worthless the last days as it seems to be,
some politely emails with uncomfortable questions never got answered - not even with a short 'sorry we will not disclose it',
claims of 'under promise, over delivery' as well as 'margins upon margins upon margins',
...

..as professionals they should be aware that such statements and behavior breaks your neck when not sticking to them.
So how about not blaming disappointed customers for being pissed off, but KnC for causing the disappointments in first place.

instead of
"Can you Xialla and everyone else stop WHINING LIKE CHILDREN, we're all getting really sick of it."
you should yell
"KnC what the fuck is going on, you make me dealing with more and more ppl being pissed off, we're all getting really sick of it."

well you can even inform them that you know some of the consumer laws of their country and they still buck the system.

I've posted this a few (dozens) of pages earlier, but it went unnoticed for all the crying. The bottom line is, I am not too worried until the end of October:

I don't see that no refunds message as negative, unless we start getting "in 2 weeks" (tm) messages shortly thereafter.

On the 20th of August I was considering to buy hosting as I would not be around to receive/install/maintain the miner in November. So I fired off a question if they were sure to deliver my miner before the end of October.

Here's their answer:

Quote
Hej,

Thanks,

Carl

Med vänlig hälsning  |  Best regards
Carl Sidenvall, customer services

So I went ahead and ordered hosting. In that respect, I am pretty calm until the 31st of October knocks on the door.

“Dark times lie ahead of us and there will be a time when we must choose between what is easy and what is right.”
“We are only as strong as we are united, as weak as we are divided.”
“It is important to fight and fight again, and keep fighting, for only then can evil be kept at bay, though never quite eradicated.”

I do not really care whether they will be late some days.

I can understand those being pissed off as I'm pissed off myself by KnC's broken promises and their behavior so far.
Even if orders are on their way in this very moment and do arrive the next hours it would not change this circumstance.

now this shady 'no more refund' policy (because of mass refunds?),
Speculation. Speculation. Speculation.

Here are some more pointless speculations on the "no more refund":
1. Things have gone badly wrong, which is what everybody here seemed to assume yesterday. People assume this from comparing them to bullshitlabs.
2. Things are going well and they are planning to ship in 3 or 4 days time. Only makes sense to stop refunds, otherwise they will start to lose money they have paid to UPS etc.
3. Sam paid out $31k refund on the 24th, which might have had a big influence on stopping refunds. He could easily have put the no refunds in place 24th and told them to get lost. I think it shows integrity that as late as 24th, he paid out such a massive refund. Many companies (who will remain nameless) would try to worm out of it.

You enjoy that speculation?

It doesn't mean anything.

instead of
"Can you Xialla and everyone else stop WHINING LIKE CHILDREN, we're all getting really sick of it."
you should yell
"KnC what the fuck is going on, you make me dealing with more and more ppl being pissed off, we're all getting really sick of it."
Most of the FUD comes from comparing KNC to other companies.

KNC never promised to disclose an order chain. What purpose would it serve, if they intend to ship 100's per day for about 2 weeks? They did say they will provide a UPS tracking number when miner is shipped. So that is what they promised and I'm sure that is what they will deliver.

If KNC ship on or before 30th Sept, they have kept their big promise. No one knows if they will or not, so everything else is speculation.

As I said a page back, better to stick to the facts we have and wait for updates (from KNC directly, or from Bitcoinorama who says he is going to Sweden tomorrow and will report back with facts and pictures/videos).

If the product ships on time, KNC's choice of skipping the testing stage will be seen as bold & daring.  If they fail, well...

What product?  The only product they have is the FPGA prototype and they are not building/shipping that.

Why you guys are so hyped up about KNC and its "products"?

Until they show a working ASIC chip, there is nothing to be excited about.

Did you already forget Avalon and BFL fiasco?  Why do you think KNC will be any different?
Once (IF) they get any working ASIC, they will mine the shit out of it for a month or two, blame Chinese customs for delays and
maybe then ship few units to "supporters".

they could have stopped all this as well as refunds by naming a shipping date or at least give more news about current progress
as well as [edit-begin] sticking to claims like [edit-end] allowing refunds until shipment as stated [edit2-begin] since there are still some asking for October slots as far as I know [edit2-end]

being silent in order to surprise customers seems to be a stupid tactic and I do not think they are stupid

By "product" i mean the Mercury/Saturn/Jupiter miners KNC has promised to ship before the end of the summer September.  If these products are already in customer's hands, KNC would have, indeed, underpromised and overdelivered. As things stand now, if said products ship before the end of September, KNC would fulfill its promise, though without overdelivering & having fully eroded the "margins upon margins."

@The Avenger:  KNC is an ASIC manufacturer.  If you think there's a reason it should be exempt from comparisons to other ASIC makers, please make a case.  In the meantime,

Oh right, they already shipped to the assembly plant.

Oh well, better luck next time.

Should have cancelled sooner, eh? Amazing that people so worried would wait until too late.

Wow, dude. Before this post your total contribution to this thread used to be just a little bit more significant in usefulness, than this ignore-fest of the socially crippled. Congratulations, you've reached the new low.

And what happened to your promise of staying away till monday?

On topic of the thread: Where do the KnC "supporters" come from? Spreading false hope and ridiculing the worried is so very irrational behavior. Anyone with few k$ of money involved has the right to (furthermore, is expected to) flip shit on KnC when promises are broken and refunds denied.
