yeah glad  i punted for a Titan (yeah i know stupid..before IRS ruling...but i like to mine) ..hopefully i can run that beast for more then a year on some kinda sh*tcoin

anyway off topic for here...but here is how I managed to follow the IRS guidelines according to my Tax Lady CPA
I'm out 550 bucks from my now amended 2013 tax return..but hey...the basis are covered and starting it as a 'new
business" gave me some perks...anyway if this drags on (fix the IRS ruling) into next fall (due to elections) I at least
can sell coin should I choose w/o any issues on how legit I 'is' or the coin 'is' or whatever.

I've conducted further tests and can now verify that a knc Frankenjup can be powered by a 5 foot tesla coil, (rather than the 13 foot tesla coil I suggested yesterday, that the mods accidentally deleted).



It hashes quite nicely at 3.2TH with mild overclocking, although the smell of ozone and nitrogen oxides means it can only be set up in a building with open ventilation, such as a garage, out-house or abandoned church ruins.

If you need to bring it indoors, then 6x650w Corsair psu's would certainly be a good choice cost-wise, as you'll need 3x 6pin connectors for each of Frankenjups 6 "limbs", i.e. of dead villagers 3x jupiter boards.

If anyone needs any more help or technical advice on this, please feel free to ask. Having had a number of jupiter boards with die0 issues, I have a good deal of experience reanimating the dead.

It's really frustrating that KnC operates how they want.  They won't refund my Neptune's in BTC because I paid with a wire transfer.

That would make perfect sense if my past orders paid in BTC were refunded as BTC but they only wanted to refund those as wire transfers back then too.  When I called Kurt out on that I got some snotty one-liner reply and they closed the ticket.  That is really "customer appreciation" for you.  The least they could do is help a strong supporter avoid wire transfer fees and other fees associated with converting into BTC.

I was thinking of transferring the Neptune's into Titan's but now I'm not so sure anymore.

Nice how they mine with your money and equipment, when diff is out the roof they ship your unit with promises to sell a even FASTER one in another quarter or two so they can mine with that and keep the rat race going.  They don't take credit card because they know they WONT deliver and wont have a issue with chargebacks.  Better off just to buy some btc with that money and not worry about the electric bill!

ive spent a good few hours trying to decide which is the better option, to be quite frank theyre all a bit shit.

a - continue waiting til they're willing to let us use their datahall for as long as they see fit on a 'best effort' basis

b - swap for SIX frankenjups to be shipped when?? at what additional cost to customs?? plus 6 PSUs... 90 day 'warranty'

c - swap for a 'titan' and keep on waiting for MONTHS + NO REFUNDS

d - refund

D - It was the ONLY choice I could see, bought back the BTC I used to orig. "purchase", loan KNC and pulled the trigger on Spoondoolie SP10

sad since the gridseeds are a cool company and just put out their g-blade but the economics and climate of scrypt is so vile now.... still tempted to grab one since you can buy with cc but looks like crypto as a whole will keep getting pounded price wise..

well if the above is correct the arms race if fully on ...this little peasant is gonna maybe alt coin mine for fun...but stay out of the way of the trampling of the elephants....that is a lot of hash gonna dump by the end of summer not to mention knc and other farms

will be interesting to see if all this hash drives price of coin down as the GH farms cash out right away day by day (especially need to do this in usa now...because of capital gains if you cash out the same day no capital gains from the day you mined it)

i'm pretty sure it'll be a very profitable toy, and i'm sure i've said it before, this is the correct attitude to have with mining; for most of us now, it's not some big business venture, but something we enjoy doing, and will continue to do because we believe in the coins (or like playing with the alts) that we mine. I'm still having a lot of fun right now, mining some of my rig on btc and playing around with alts, with other parts of my rig.

take difficulty out of the equation and that angst can be easily channeled into enjoyment.
