So how far whacked is the latest firmware for Neptune in terms of Watts shown?  I've got 6 cubes running on 220v and it says on the gui that it is only using 1700w for 4Th.  I realize that's probably at the chip level, but is there some other significant draw?  I don't have a kill-a-watt for 220v or I'd check at the wall/PDU.

just saw kncminer delivering within europe which would be optimal as i am also living in europe. Are they still producing hardware? i checked their website but just noticed they re producing 16nm chips and got investment from Accel Partners (15m$). So whats going on exactly? I can't see any webshop or anything. Is it still possible to purchase (profitable) mining-hardware within europe? Is it even possible to make a RoI within a decent timeframe? any help/info is appreciated.

KNCminer is done selling hardware... until they are done with it on the cloud selling contracts, and they are obsolete.
don't bother mate... people work too hard for money these days.
You may end up seeing some old neptunes after all the solar 16's have been deployed; but seriously....the train left the station over a year ago.

yeah i guess its too late to join mining.. though it would ve been great to make this experience.. so i guess in 1-2 years we won't see the avg. tech guy mining btc as the big companies with their huge mining-farms took this over.. well gotta invest my money straight into BTC..

they dont say they are done selling hardware , just asked them , seems they realize that keeping bitcoin decentral if very important.
but if they do sell it would be in a way that costomers first need to prove they capapble.

^^^ How about if KnC first prove they are actually capable of delivering on the promises they make at the time of sale?

any one with more then one braincel does not expect any promises and exact times.
only a compony that can predict the price of bitcoin in 5 years from now , can come with a exact timetable!
so if you fell fucked just look at the man in the mirror because you took a gamble and lost.

No you are referring to the definition of insanity according to (albert einstein) Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.
The definition of an idiot is you getting that wrong according to me and i'm sure i'm not alone.

An example of insanity is you continuing to say the same thing to everyone here over and over and over again expecting it to one day be correct and true.

Im happy that your miners work that does not mean that anyone here is dumb because their miners don't work according to what they bought initially.
That is the most warped logic i have ever come across. Hense calling you an idiot and asking you to please shutup! Insanity is asking you again and expecting you to do it this time! Getting it now?

you expect tyhe diffrent result by complaining instead of thinking!
you lost your money I did not , you expected a diffrent result make money fast does not work , you gabled you lost.
Iam sorry me just heppy with KNC stuff WHY ,, I took the risk and did not expect anything , I could win I could lose ,,, I did not expect ANYTHING. Smiley
since Knc can not predict the price of bitcoin , and short term greedy types fuck it up for thoose believing in btc...
my miners do work fine...

look at the stats

so dont clame KNC for your own failure of losing a gamble.

Shutup idiot, i wont say it again. People are complaining about the companies actions. There is no universe where your logic exists. Just because you are to medicated to care does not discount the fact that other people are feeling hard done by. We get it! You are happy, now do us all a favor and fuck off. Guys, guys, guys!  Not going to be the peace keeper, but I am in the middle between you two.  I had a great Saturn, ordered the CA Neptune.  Last April I asked for a refund because they didn't meet their deadlines.  I had to get the ARNS involved, but in August I received my $10,166 back.  Shouldn't have taken so long, but I did not end up getting ripped off by the Company.  Lately I've purchased 3 Neptunes and while they take some fiddling to get working as best they can, they do work at least at the stated speed of 3TH.

So yes, people have gotten hurt monetarily by KnC and people have received bad products. But some have received good products and some just don't know how to use the products and therefore think they are bad.  Both of you are completely right in your experiences, but you both need to accept not everyone's experience has been the same.

****steps down off of soapbox*****

Personally I think KnC tried to do too much too fast and got caught with their pants down.  And yes in it's infancy, anything bitcoin is a GAMBLE.  Just like the casino, don't invest more than you can afford to lose.

funny the email they sent me is that only cloud hashing will be available and/or perhaps another IPO for $$$$ they are NOT at least with the 16nm stuff gonna make any more equip for sale ....now perhaps you mean big time data hall sales volume....but anyway this was 6 weeks ago...NOPE no more sales they are keeping it all was what I was told

then again sam cole has said they will on one interview back in the day and then they won't ..but my guess is they won't makes no sense if they have the best chip at the moment coming out in volume the data hall is 1c kwh elec....would make no sense...also really makes no sense if sam cole at knc's boast about wanting KNC to control 40% of all mining in 2016

Its all FUD knc tells folks at any particular time what they want to hear....me the only thing I believe is their attempted run in 2016 with data hall and IPO $$$ at 40% of all mining goal...sounds like a megalomaniac kinda goal knc would go for

Yah I'm not sure why. I got them on a computer table by my window, 2 stacked on top of each other, one just by itself and a Turbo-Aire fan cooling everything. It's showing that I'm using 1430w but I don't know if that is accurate.

I'm in the same boat as you, using 220/240V with no way to measure. Indeed, that number is just on the Cube side, but I haven't seen any differences between firmware versions. My worst Neptune runs at 1,400W with undervolting, so 1,700w sounds about right for 6 Cubes.

Someone on the now nuked KnC forum (either shyliar, or prototype) had written up how to estimate total usage at the wall, but I don't remember it. I ended up at a 1,900W estimate at the wall for the Neptune showing 1,400W on the web interface. I just use the % difference between those numbers to calculate my other Neptune's usage. It must be fairly accurate, because I have 15 Cubes running on a 30A 240V circuit and the breaker stays fairly warm. That should be running right around the recommended continuous load max of 80% on the breaker.

If you don't mind burning money (like some "Einsteins" around here, lol), you could get one of these to get an actual reading at the breaker box: http://www.amazon.com/Fluke-323-True-RMS-Clamp-Meter/dp/B00AQKIEXY/ Of course, there are cheaper brands, but they all look like cheap junk after reading the reviews.

Repositioned the cubes and lowered all their voltage to factory default. Running a bit cooler now.
Did you accidentally go the wrong direction on the voltages? A higher negative number equals a lower voltage. So -0.0439V is lower than -0.0366V. Smiley

Smiley
this realy depends on the PSU

Gold VS platinum VS titanium

Now you can also see that in the US you lose more power when not using 230V
