if any lawler is interested in kncminer,
not granting warrenty. Please contcat me though pm.
they just waited to reply (about a week ) after one year and said warrenty exprired!
i asked for rma before one year was over.
this is not lawfull and they know it.................

ps. where does one order a ribbin cable if  one is lost...

you'll have to make your own, but it's pretty easy and you can use common slip jaw pliers instead of a crimper

just be careful to double/triple check the orientation of the plugs (or order extras)

you would not happen to know IF the old mercury/saturn/jupiter ribbon cables are the same? (yeah shorter but still) I have like 4 of these puppies
from the old KNC 550gh Jupiter I could use as a spare on my Titans. Just wondering if anyone knows off hand.

(my setup below. The KNC 550gh Jupiter is now being used as a 'gravity assist device' to keep the miner workbench down) Smiley

Hey searing I like your exhaust fan setup. Where'd you find that shroud to cover the louvers on the outside? I propped my louvers open with a spring so the fan doesn't work as hard. A shroud would help

I added a temp control switch from amazon, but I came up with basically the same setup

I made my own using bulk materials as well.  I found out what the maximum length of the cable was, but have forgotten it.  I believe it was 24" because that's how long I made mine.  They work fine at that length.  However, (because KNC sucks) we have no way of knowing how much data is being pushed across these cables, and how fast.  The general rule of thumb is that the maximum cable length halves every time the speed is doubled.

Also, capacitance is the issue for the UART chips, not voltage drop, so 28AWG wires are perfect.  You won't get longer cable length by increasing the wire size.

Anyhow, that was a long way of saying these cables can be made at least 24" long, and they work.  I know because I'm using them.

here ya go ..I think the hoods are only online at 'Menards' but you can probably get both. I got the below shutter fan at Menards and the hood from the online menards store

https://www.menards.com/main/building-materials/roofing-soffits-gutters/power-vents/canarm-xf-series-knock-down-hood-for-xfs12-r-16-r/static-foundation-vents/canarm-xf-series-knock-down-hood-for-xfs12-r-16-r/p-1444426163562.htm

https://www.menards.com/main/static-foundation-vents/canarm-12-3-speed-xfs-series-exhaust-shutter-fan/p-1444426155930.htm

I got the 12" version. It basically ran all the time in the Summer....they are NOT recommended for basement windows like mine....I kept the brush away in case of spark (never got that dry here) also the shutters don't always close if you shut the fan off..in that they cost me 10 bucks in electric to run a month I did not sweat it..just ate the electric costs (before halving so not an issue lol ) Smiley

Anyway when I did shut the fan off (like 3x) I had to go out and push shutters shut..just an FYI..probably could have tweaked them to be looser..but did not bother..as you can see from my picture below I really had to have a 'shutter fan' or rain would fall on the miners...In that it was on 24/7 this was not a big deal. And yeah it got warm down there at 2500 watts so it really did need to be on most of the time ..with the push fan below also on mostly this last summer. SO NOTE WITH YOUR THERMOSTAT AND the shutters MAYBE once in a great while NOT shutting (magnetic but still) if you are using the fan in a more sensible place it is not an issue ..my location sucked so just left it on 24/7 and ate 10 bucks a month Smiley

I also had this 'pusher"  fan at the other end of basement hanging in front of the window to push air in as the shutter fan pushed air out it also was 10 bucks a month electric to run.

the push fan was from Menards but can't find it now...look around for a model near you (if you want such) air king 9318. Anyway paid a bit more for this in that I figure I can use both in the future. They are built well should last. A person could just get both from Amazon. The hood was challenging to find but I see it is still on Amazon. Again paid more for these fans in that I will likely just keep the shutter fan in (what the heck) and can use them both in basement in the future when miners are doorstops.

http://www.amazon.com/Air-King-9318-Industrial-Velocity/dp/B000GGNTU6/ref=sr_1_1?s=home-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1448861156&sr=1-1&keywords=air+king+9318

Worked well with my 2 Titans in the basement. Pretty Hot summer for Minnesota but it was all about air flow. As you can see from my imgur pages. Also on those pages are the above units installed. Hot air went to ceiling.. I had a great breeze of incoming air with the pusher fan and out the shutter fan it went ..easy pleasy ..no mess no fuss Smiley

As a side note. On the shutter fan above the dryer in my pics on lostgonzo.imgur.com once mounted (I used painted plywood and raised with 1 1/4" by 1 1/4" PLASTIC trim I think it was to be higher then the actual vinyl window frame and screws that into wood around vynal basement window frames..thus higher then window and no damage to such with plywood attach and then the plywood went into that not 'ruin' my nice new windows in basement.

As such there is enough room with winter to take off the metal cage in the inside and remove the fan/motor assembly on such and put the pull down vinyl window with handle back in and close such. So it worked out pretty slick. A four bolt remove as you can see from the picture above. So again wtf I probably will just leave it in place the mod for winter is easy to put back.

again here is a pic of my complete setup. you wish to see more (including my 6 cube putty speeds on 2 corsair 1200i psu's and my 2 cube unit on 1 Seasonic 860w both platinum...knock about my imgur site.

If this is too off topic for the thread I'll move it or delete it. But it may be applicable for SOMEONE in Australia or other parts of the world where it is Summer. Smiley But what the heck if I can't show off my 'deluded' "pre-order' (dumb) 'newbie shrine..back when I got it" to KNC on this thread..well where can I post this stuff Smiley (such a cute trusting newbie I was ..drank the KNC kool aid....anyway I've ROI'd plenty so FU KNC .....)

The KNC Jupiter 550gh miner you see on the bottom shelf (metal closet shelves added to fit Menards) and workbench (only like 50 bucks more then other workbenches 180 Sam's club for crying out loud it has a butcher block top) anyway the Jupiter is OFF and being used as a 'gravity assist device to keep miner bench down" people keep asking if I'm still mining with it er NO.
The legs are metal so got 12 buck tap and die set and bolted all the stuff the threads in the frame. (shelves, trip lite euro 220v surge protectors ..saved my ass 3 times in storms...etc)

anyway gonna miss home mining I kinda over did it as you can see above Smiley The 'withdrawl and shakes is gonna be sooooooo bad Sad

Anyway scroll about the Imgur site it is full of Titan related toys (psu switches/tripp lite 220v units/etc)

man I'm gonna miss this bad when it all goes to 'doorstop status' ie 'bricks' Sad

One of the DC/DC disappeared from Asic 2 (#2 DC/DC) overnight, any idea why and how to fix it? This is one of my problem Titan, I run it with some dies off.

Thanks.

This is one of the things my firmware addresses....... fixes it automatically (given the DCDC's & Die are not broken at the hardware level, its rare). My firmware simply power cycles the cube w/ the effected die and then restarts bfgminer. Brings the die back 99.9% of the time =)

You were supposed to create a video based on the knowledge you already had from your experience dealing with Titans...  Sorry if I sound abrasive, but I paid for something I never received in regards to your video. If it weren't for Tarkin's awesome work on his firmware, I'd feel ripped off. As it is now, the video is written off in my head and I'm glad to have supported Tarkin with my $50. Hopefully you'll make me look like an ass and prove me wrong.

I circumvent this problem by paying my money directly to GenTarkin, and not dealing with the middleman at all.

Now, what is all this nonsense I hear about LTC development being halted?  Source for this info?

It may have just been a scare tactic, cuz around that time there was a GIGANTIC sell wall on btc-e and tons of people saying it was the end of LTC

It happens all the time to my rig.  A hard reboot fixes it.  No need to run at a lower frequency.  If it happens a lot, that may indicate an issue with your PSU.

I wish LTC would tank so I could buy more of it.  If feel stupid for "diversifying" and selling a bunch of LTC earlier in the year.

Yeah, my firmware makes it so that all happens automatically, like I stated above. You dont have to manually power cycle (hard boot) it.

Those of you who need a bridge connector for your titan controller, i'll be having them manufactured and sent to me to test. If you need one it'll be 0.5 BTC.

I've increased the copper thickness on the bridge, so if you dont need a bridge but want your controller to last longer, than you'd still want one of these. PM me for more details.

A bridge connector?  What is that?

the only real piece someone can make between the raspberry pi and the knc ported board....supposedly it is a common port of failure of controllers

I will likely get one ..just to have stuff around in case something goes boom on 1 of my 2 titan controllers....got a raspberry pi B+ I could use in a pinch ...getting stuff together for the re paste of a cube or two...with fans and heatsinks (Swedish guy mod on youtube do a search of knc titan he pops right up)

glen trakin's firmware for the knc titan 3rd party stuff

know how to make a replacement ribbon or what to do if a voltage plug goes 'pooey' on the cube proper to replace

so with the bridge (comes out to about 80 bucks piece of mind per titan) wtf.....the only point of collapse after that point in time is the titan data port board itself..that folk have said would  have to be reverse engineered anyway....

(i've spent 0.5 btc on 'dumber stuff"

anyway my logic in for all this anyway

(damn i'm an 'asic prepper' need to get a camo sticker to stick on my titan cubes...sorry they are 'evil' they will brick themselves will i be  prepared Smiley

Yeah, Searing is pretty much correct. The bridge connector is the PCB connecting the RPI to the bottom Titan board. If you're using any other PSU than the one they recommend, that bridge will for sure burn out (6 burned out on me). I've designed some better ones with thicker copper junctions to stop the PCB from burning out when the PSU gives it a jolt.

I think you've got another issue if you've got PSUs giving jolts that fry hardware, friend. I've measured power consumption of the entire Titan controller with 5 cubes and the LCD... 2.5w. Nowhere near enough to burn anything out.

Actually it's quite interesting. I've used their recommended PSU's and Platinum grade PSUs. All of them eventually burn out the bridge. It's not 2.5w (power consumption).

You have to realize that with anything using a molex/atx, sends a slightly higher jolt of electricity to the device, hence why transistors and resistors exist to keep control. The bridge isn't designed for multiple changes in voltage ever. This means, changing PSU's, unplugging it and plugging it back in, power cycling the controller, all can present such a problem. Same thing happens with every electronic device. I've already had about 5 people contact me with the same issue. I've gathered some statistics, and it's not the PSU's. It's the bridge.

It's December and here's a video of your favourite bitcoin turkey - Scam Hole:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RDnA6i6oEvA

Pretty boring overall. And must have been shot a while back as there is also a video featuring recently fired Nanok Bie.

When the interviewer asks at the start where Scam got his money for all the hardware, Scam avoids mentioning he stole got a free loan from customers without their permission.

Also Scam mentions how kfc are going to go back to consumer sales again in the future when the price of bitcoin rises sufficiently. I assume he hopes everyone will have forgotten about past exploiting and screwing over original customers. And current lawsuits.

What else? How kfc plan to get control 40% of bitcoin network. And early in the video Scam explains how to hijack the bitcoin network, so it's obviously something these kunts are thinking about.

No version F, not exactly sure what the next version will be called. The reason for the long time between releases currently is because of my lengthy testing of "Energy Saver" ... to date its the most complex thing Ive coded into the firmware. Im goin on vacation in a couple weeks, if its not out by then it wont be till January sometime.

GenTarkin's MOD Kncminer Titan custom firmware! v1.0.4! -- !!NO LONGER AVAILABLE!!
