AND, why some ppls hosted rigs have been pointed to provide KNCs wallet with coins?Huh

Source? Otherwise don't spread FUD.

I am actually glad I have a late hosted order. Hopefully all the kinks have been ironed out by then. Tongue

All early orders (if they did their pre-purchase research properly) basically signed up to be guinea pigs in return for a certain probability that everything worked perfectly from the start.

And as anyone working with IT knows, the chances of that are minimal (enter the famous Murphy's Law). The fact that KnC managed to have a product that is working over the initial spec in at least 80% of the times on their first try is monumental.

please keep up.

im not about to go sifting through thousands of posts just to reiterate what more than one HOSTED miner has already reported.

knc may well have broken some tech records but facts are facts, just because you have not read them does not make them irrelevant.

and there are PLENTY of early orders yet to arrive, in fact it seems we (they) have stalled out at around 2000.

do you require sauce with that also to make it less 'FUDdy'

E2A - thanks for not ignoring 1 of my several questions, though i wasnt really asking you its nice to not be ignored.

i half agree with the later orders maybe having the kinks ironed out - the other half of me thinks that maybe all the good chips will be used in house while we end up with the dregs...

I am actually keeping up, and reading all the whining post can be quite tedious, but I am at it.
What I remember from all the posts, is that the "KnC mines with customer's units" originated from a perversion of a statement "KnC reimbursed hosted day1 customers with mined coins". The first does not equal the second.

Also, if you have been keeping up, you'd know that I reported twice my reason fo going hosted was after a communication with KnC from August, where I asked them if they'd guarantee my order gets shipped before the end of October as I will not be around to receive shipment after that. Their answer was 'no', so I switched to hosting.

In my books, they have until the end of October to deliver all the October units. October 15th is again an implicit perversion of the "November 15th minus 1 month" assumption.

I am actually glad that they suspended shipping (if they indeed did so), to iron out the problems. A sign of professionalism.

I'm thinking of buying 2x 140mm fans and just put them with cables ties on the outside of the case at the rear (exhaust side), so they can help a little bit with removing the hot air.

Thermalright TY 143 look nice and coupled with a fan controller you can run them quiet and slow or noisy and fast.

L152 mm x H140 mm x W26.5 mm
Fan Weight : 170g
Fan Speed : 600 - 2500 rpm (PWM)
Sound Level : 21 - 45 dB(A)
Airflow : 31.4 - 130.0 CFM

Or one can get a more advanced one with a display and thermal probes = monitor the temps inside the case directly Smiley
Hey Cyper, wouldn't it be better to add the souped-up, more powerful fans as the inlet fans and put the existing f14's at the rear to suck out the air? I think it would be more important for temperatures to improve the inflow than the outflow.

That's another option. If I had a miner in my hands I can tell you which one is better as I can measure the temps with my IR thermometer. But I don't.
I can even change the intake as well so they are all equal in performance - front and back.

i feel your pain but i have been keeping up with news relevant to me, not you.

in my book the end of october is 2 weeks after they were confident they would be finished with shipping, like they said.

claiming to be confident while knowing what you claim is impossible is hardly what i would call professional

and i was not referring to 'KnC reimbursed hosted day1 customers with mined coins'

if i was i wouldnt have said 'AND, why some ppls hosted rigs have been pointed to provide KNCs wallet with coins?' instead of 'KnC reimbursed hosted day1 customers with mined coins'

The default address for hosted rigs is a wallet owned by KnC.

If you did not provide a wallet, it would have defaulted to this.

If the machine did a hardreset (I believe) as one of mine did, it defaults back to their wallet.

Nothing is wrong with this other than there is no warning on this hardreset so you do have to keep track of your miners. It's easy enough to change the address in the KnC Mining Portal.

What exactly is happening?

You turn on the miner and after lets say 1 min the miner suddenly shuts down? Thats whats happening with one of my miners.
that's bad as i have a small home
no more place to set up more miner
Pretty much. And after it fails its hard to get it back on. I need the reset it several times to get it going.

@KNC: Communicating with your customers is key in times of trouble!!

Come on, how hard can it be to post a news item every day on your website with a status update ?
It's not nice to receive bad news, but WAY WAY WAY better than no news at all.
+1

Edit: They are all so stupid making the same mistakes over and over again.

im confident its not stupidity
What do you think it is?

i wouldnt like to be accused of trolling or fudding again but these guys arent stupid.

1. they already got paid months ago = not stupid

2. they managed to produce something that we all wish we could produce = not stupid

3. they used 'some of us' to keep them looking like a worthy venture until they decided to change the t.o.s = not stupid

again - i dont think theyre stupid, like josh & yifu arent.

No matter how many times theyre called a dumbass - those guys are eating well! = not stupidity

I was thinking the other day that we needed to pull this picture back out. They're swimming in our cash saying "Thanks, suckers!!!!"

OK, seems like we have the same issue.

I "solved" it with just turning off one of the asic-boards. I never assumed that maybe heat could be the problem.

I will definetly try with fans on.

The Swedish Embassy in Benghazi was bombed this morning.  Did KNC sell any miners in Lybia?

or did the swedish embassies miners just spontaneously combust?

Or did some Benghazi rebels have miner problems and were told "No refunds"?

And I apologize for joking about this.   Chris didn't deserve the treatment and death he suffered.  Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty killed over 60 of the attackers in a running gun battle that took place over a period of many hours.  They were abandoned by our government and their commanding officers - apparently so as not to interfere with a CIA gun running operation that was in progress - providing guns to the very rebels that killed the two Navy Seals.
