Box has arrived undamaged.  Loud sound of plastic falling about inside.

Some of that plastic wrap coating for the aluminum would protect from scratches in assembly.

Mercury so only one PCIE-6 plug protruding.

T-20 torx was noted as the screw size and is so.

Wow, my PCI-E-4 lead must be wrong.  The PCI-e 4 lead has yellow to the clip side while a PCI-E-6 video card testing cable has ground to clip side.  I just tested ground between the center two pins of the Molex 4 pin connector and the PCI-E-6 and found the ground on the clip side of the PCI-E-6 as found on the video card test cable.  Good thing I checked.  Also, the 12v of the Molex 4 is not common with the 12v of the PCI-E-6.

Okay all up and running.  Somehow the password was missing a digit and that probably explains why there was no indication of testing on Slush.  So, the IP address wasn't showing up on linux arp -a so I went to my router and checked the DHCP table and there it was.

So, changed the password and restarted.

getting 10 HW errors in a row after about 8 accepted, repeatedly, sometimes only one or two accepted before a 10 HW error notation.

There is no such thing as a PCIe 4pin connector. You are looking at the CPU connector which should have the yellow +12v wires on the clip side.  PCIe 6 and 8 pin connectors will have the yellow +12v wires on the non-clip side and there will only be 3 present.  This way you can distinguish it from a CPU4+4 connector which will have 4 +12v yellow wires on the clip side.

Is there a KNC miner setup and tuning thread yet?  I think that will be most useful for keeping that kind of information together and parsable.

Tired of substandard power distribution in your ASIC setup???   Chris' Custom Cablez will get you sorted out right!  No job too hard so PM me for a quote

Turns out that although the 12vdc of the 4 pin Molex isn't common with the 12vdc of the PCI-E-6, it is necessary to run the front fans.

Still getting a lot of errors tho:

is this a mercury ?

Yes.  Arrived this morning.  Had no testing stats to show on Slush because the password was incorrect.  Now it's here and many cores disabled while getting warmed up.  It's running 0.95.

Oh well, I'm going to shut it down and inspect the board with a loupe and check out its thermal paste or tape.

How long was it running for? A few minutes may not be enough to see it get hashing properly...assuming nothing wrong of course.

Which firmware? Did you update the firmware that it shipped with?

Box has arrived undamaged.  Loud sound of plastic falling about inside.

How is that possible?

Your unit and mine were on the same plane, I live one hour from you and mine is still in OHIO

My shipment appears to be sitting in OH with the following status:
Quote
12    Clearance event    CINCINNATI HUB, OH - USA    4:48 AM

Under "Further Details":
Quote
The Clearance process for this shipment is on-going with additional details required for clearance

and under "Next Step":
Quote
The clearance process will continue once the additional details are provided for clearance

Is this something out of the ordinary, or do all international shipments to the US go through this?

About the same.  Nothing visibly wrong on the ASIC board.  Didn't check the controller board or BBB.  Soon after the restart the 12v switching supply said the ASIC and fans were using 156 watts but as the cores shut down the power dropped and presently it's just 132 watts.
