It's been like a thousand pages since I posted here. First I'd like to make a big shout out to Bitcoinorama for convincing me that KnC was legit. You were right man and on behalf of myself, and my friends and family, thank you very! If you can do updates on the coming Neptunes that would be great (another thread? Or here?)

The most recent update is they cost $13k or so, plus fees, there's less than 130 left to purchase, and sometime between march and august of 2014 is when they will arrive, with a hashrate of 3-7TH, depending on how much power you can supply.

Best of luck.

Hahah - nice summary  Cheesy

LOL thanks.. executive summation is part of my job, every now and then I get it right. I believe KNC has the highest quality product, and my summary is on point. I just wish I had expendable reserves to get one.

Yeah - it makes so much more sense to summarize in ranges, not in fixed numbers - just add diff will be between 3 and 10 billion and BC/ USD between 0 and 10k and everyone can start to do his own calculation  Cool

Still 178 Neptunes - your last chance Wink

how do you find out how many Neptunes are left?  I like to check it myself.

I wouldn't mind another but I may need couple more days to mine more BTC.

Should I just order now and pay later or do they cancel after a period of non payment?

thanks

Where did you get August from?

Isn't it Q1/Q2 which is Q1=Jan/Feb/Mar and Q2=Apr/May/Jun 2014

Put 500 Neptunes in your shopping cart. It will tell you that only x are left.

Try your tactic - but no one can guarantee that. I guess they will be sold out by end of week.

Does anyone know where I can buy more thermal blocks of the same size as what is in the November Jupiter that cover the new VRM's?  Mine didn't come with any and it performs like an October Jup.

I believe they said shipment depended upon paid order, and paid orders took precedent over non paid orders. I don't believe you can just put one on order and wait 5 months. A week maybe.

Where did you get August from?

Isn't it Q1/Q2 which is Q1=Jan/Feb/Mar and Q2=Apr/May/Jun 2014

First Batch (with many unknowns): Supposed to ship in September, ended up in Oct/November.

Second Batch (with everything figured out): They were to ship in November, ended up first week of December.

Presume June 2014 shipments to take place between July/August based on that history. So worst case scenario August 2014, best case (unlikely) is March 2014. So.. somewhere between there.

If I had to guess.. I would say at best, they will begin shipment in May.

This is kinda misleading. First batch were supposed to ship by Oct 15, and they did ship around half of orders before that date. They never guaranteed anything in september, it was just best case scenario. And second batch started shipping late november, not early december.

Are you looking at a different KNC news feed than I am? And the "early bird" folks back in June/July would dispute your estimation of the first batch, which was to ship/arrive in September.

It's an estimated based on prior performance levels, which more than doubled from the conservative design spec.

KNC announced 3TH would be the minimum, with "much more" hash depending on your power capability. This is what appears to be their first design toward industrial/commercial rigs. Several of us have done the backwards math for the TH/Wattage. If you search you can see the reasoning.

I personally believe 7TH is an upper limit, with 5-6 realistic--but I wouldn't make a buying decision based on anything other than 3TH.

I guess thats based on the premise that because Jupiter was originally expected to be 350GH/s (actually the initial launch thought only 250GH/s) but in the end the November batch came out at near 700GH/s

Extrapolated from GH to TH then you get 3-7TH

If I did order 1 Neptune now to pay later, I mean latest 1 week later.  not 5 months.

As I can remember, the Jupiter's were meant to of started shipping end of September, but they were a couple weeks late, not 8 weeks late.

Also, don't you think now they have better understanding of the whole manufacturing process and their factory is fully setup with full workforce.  Unlike before (first time round) they were setting up and adding staff as they went along.

they have to have more experience this time round, no?

Couple of weeks? They didn't start arriving in many cases, until end of October, with next day shipping. Mid September was the first prediction, then Sep 27th, then the end of September.

Late is late. Granted, this was their first batch with unknowns, so forgiveness is easy. As I stated.

Also, don't you think now they have better understanding of the whole manufacturing process and their factory is fully setup with full workforce.  Unlike before (first time round) they were setting up and adding staff as they went along.

You would imagine, but they still had delays despite that, likely because they kept changing the design. And this 2nd batch has had more apparent DOA's and failures than the first, which indicates they rushed it out the door. This doesn't get forgiveness like the first batch.

Hence, my safe worst case scenario of August. Worst case.

This post is entirely wrong.

I ordered a first batch saturn. I've been following their news closely, and I know that when I ordered one in June they said orders were expected to start shipping in september but all they PROMISED was to ship it before october 15th, AND THEY DID, I received mine on the 15th exactly.

Problem is that "shit happens" like having to switch the VRM component at the last minute because they couldn't get the original ones, now sometimes that has a positive effect (Hash rate) and sometimes it has a negative effect (delay)

Certainly their delays are getting shorter, probably due to the manufacturing process becoming slicker.

But there is always something that can happen, it "appears" that when pushing the envelope with the Jupiter design that the variability of the production process can introduce perhaps tolerance problems that may have caused performance issues some machines.

Its hard to remember that to all extents and purposes in any other industry these would be highly experimental one off production runs. I mean we've only had 1 batch of October machines and one batch of redesigned November machines. In normal production runs they would be at the third or fourth batch by now and would have tweaked the production process to account for any anomalies that the discovered from earlier batches.
