Are the neptune 10k customer only batch and the 13k batch shipping at the same time and current batch ships out a month after those first lots have shipped. Is that right?

Makes more sense than the 13k batch shipping with the current batch as that would trigger refund requests probably.

Yep certainly wouldn't be a good idea or I thought maybe the customer only batch ships a month ahead of 13k batch so 3 batches in 3 months? But they most probably ship at the same time. So the 10k customer only batch and 13k are one batch and existing customers just got rewarded with a cheap price and first dibs?

edit:
IIRC the original $10K customers are receiving theirs first and the $13K customers Neptunes shipping second a couple of weeks later.

Ok Thanks

What matthewh3 said is what KNC relayed to us. 1,200 units (10K) customer appreciation batch shipping first, then within 2-3 weeks later, the remaining 2,400 units will begin shipping.

Looks like Cointerra isn't far from shipping the world's next "most powerful BTC miner".

Lots of folks in this thread said they'd never even have a chip in January.

Wink KNC will ship new Jupiters soon I'm sure Wink

I wonder if they intend to keep rolling out neptune batches for sale month after month like cointerra have done or another network protection statement until other companies reach 3-4TH machines or 20nm machines?

At what price? $2995 or $3495 I'm guessing one of those. Surely less than $4K

I came so close to ordering from cointerra it's a bit of a regret

You can still order a cointerra for $6k, indicates a delivery in May which could be before the Neptunes are delivered. A whole $4,000 less may be the way to go. Or, better yet...order 2 of them for the same price a lot of people ordered the $13k Neptune for. And they come with power supplies.

Cointerra has done a fine job at pricing, and if their production/shipment line goes full swing, I believe KNC will see quite a bruteforce level of competition. Lots of ifs there, but still. KNC is a quality product and they've done extremely well overall, but they may just be facing an uphill battle this year, especially since they haven't even taped out yet.

In-hand and time-to-delivery are, afterall, cornerstone aspects of this market.

It is nice that Cointerra is supplying PSU's, that's value added. Devil's Advocate: KNC allows you to choose what PSU is best for you, and if a PSU goes down, quicker/easier to replace.

As a previous customer who delayed my Neptune purchase and saw the price rise to $13k, I not only get the price increase penalty but will be penalized with a delay as well?  Hell, batch one $10k Neptunes will reach non-previous customer ebay buyers before this Oct. Merc buyer!?  That sucks bevis.

They are just regular ATX power supplies and can be changed out. And since they are of the ATX standard, their sizing all should be the same. I guess if someone is hung up on what power supplies to use they can change them out, but having them included in the price that less expensive is pretty nice. And I'm sure they would also carry some kind of warranty. It is nice to see some competition. It's not fun having just one company monopolize the bitcoin mining arena. In due time I can guarantee you KNC will be more verbal and start showing themselves more often on the forums and maybe even in their own forums as well as competition usually does that.

From what I saw of the final product, they are RM PSU's (rack mount), not normal ATX. More expensive, though usually last longer. Unless I'm looking at an entirely different Cointerra Terraminer..

They may also offer a first batch to previous customers only who have had or have money down on pre-orders.  As part of their network protection scheme.

Looks like today Cointerra finally put together a working machine.  It would be nice if KNC actually posted a status report on the Neptune boxes.

Neptunes might sell out now that people see they will be over twice as fast as terraminers

WELL they selling fast down below 300 left.

Aren't we all. BitFury and Antminer prices keep going down, so I'm trying to resist the urge to buy some of those because I think the Jupiters will be a better deal if Knc ever releases them.

That depends on when Knc can deliver the Neptunes, so your guess is as good as mine. If they can deliver Neptunes in Q1, I think Neptune buyers will be pretty happy. If they can't deliver Neptunes until the end of Q2, pretty much all Neptune buyers will lose money if they paid in BTC.

If Knc offers another round of Jupes, the risk for buyers will be much lower since they will ship immediately.

Wink KNC will ship new Jupiters soon I'm sure Wink

If they do that it will likely push neptunes into Q2. I'll probably drop my neptune order in that case. I hope they put out some updates soon.
