I seriously hope they get fucked somehow, like the datorhall gets hit with a quake, electrical storm, or a nuke, private keys lost, anything.

They will.

Think they will work with a Mercury? Because they said the boards are for Nov boxes only...

you can flash the controller boards with the new firmware for either modules and just put that mercury module in an oct sat/jup

worst case you sell that merc module but you get case/controller board/chassis fans

Only a controller is needed from a Mercury.

based on the last couple of pages I just read I guess things aren't looking so rosy for those who pre ordered some miners recently which is a shame.  I liked what KNC was offering at first but I guess things have changed in the mining game faster then many of us thought it would?

Who would know the difficulty would be 1000x harder now than last spring.  Even though the btc price increased 6x.

So it will only allow me to order 3 upgrade modules.

I have some controllers but I'm planning on keeping the Mercury 6 slot ones for more consolidation, I also have empty boxes with fans as well...

PM me...

so the upgrade module will not work on a oct. miner?

The controllers are the same and the 1.00 firmware works with both so I was going to try to mix them and see if the firmware figures out which modules are which.  It should be fairly simple bit of code for that.

Not sure how deep it goes but KNC noted in the 1.00 release notes that you cannot mix and match modules.. I haven't looked close enough to see what needs to be done but I don't think the monitoring utilities check so the GE and Ericcsson utilities might step on each other's toes..

All of my current "modules" were bought used and I am in some cases the 3rd or 4th owner and they'll still cranking away.  Although some are getting testy with my overclcoking speed of 0x235 but hey  Grin
