It would be pretty amazing if Knc switched directions and starting selling in stock hardware that ships immediately for a reasonable price.

I would buy a Neptune right now if it was ~$1/GH and shipped immediately, but their current batch 3 pricing is a joke (~$2/GH with an unspecified shipping date).

The Neptune is very competitive from a performance standpoint with other hardware on the market, and they would sell like hotcakes if they were priced competitively and sold from stock like Bitmain.

As we know, all what KnCancer wants is more crowd-funded money printers aka datorhalls, not more competition.
Last 6 months have proven that they can't have any intention at all to do further customer business, right ?

They have screwed their customers datorhall founders so hard and in total confidence that they do not need any money from them in the furture (for their private 16nm coming next year)
..but then waferyield was a total mess, the 20nm chip performance is crappy (why 5 cubes, eh?), too much refunds were requested and all this while r&d of next gen..

Now they have a problem I assume:
too less funds for shipping all paid Neptune orders, Titan production and shipping, plus continue with 16nm.

In addition no one with brain gives them money again.
Legal steps will enforce more and more refunds I hope - until nothing is left..
..and they are done just because of their megalomania and sick greed.

AFox, did you file in Sweden? How long did the whole process take?
I hired a lawyer in my country (France) specialized in European law.
It took two weeks.

I don't know how the lawyer did it.
He just asked for the invoice from KNC, my IBAN (account informations) and my identity card.

The interesting thing, is that I paid in BTC, but KNC issued me an invoice in USD and paid me back by bank transfer in USD.

Congratulations!!
It was more than overdue that someone went this route to prove KnC's behavior is criminal, fraudulent and from the viewpoint of actual laws unacceptable. Hopefully many others will follow you!

For those in my boat with a corsair 1200i they may have considered for use on the Neptune (don't work see post below) and or the Titan (see post below)

I got this reply from Kurt at KNC Forums...so definitely don't get this for the Neptune and probably not a good idea for the Titan either

again for people in my boat who may have one of these lying about ..they 'thought' they could likely use with the Titan...er not looking likely now imho

Kurt's reply to my question on the corsair 1200i and its use with a Titan...1st line is in regards to the Neptune...2nd line is in regards to the Titan....

I quote:

"To answer your additional questions, the 1200i is a multi rail power supply that cannot handle the frequency set at 425MHz, there is no fix for this as the power supply is inadequate.

We do not know the exact specifications of the Titan miner yet, so it is best to wait until final specs are released."

end quote:

Anyway just a heads up to those having these corsair 1200i units they planned to use with Titan (or Neptune) ...and/or to those who were gonna buy such.

Probably that would be a bad call imho...

anyway for your consideration

Searing

I'm running 1200i supplies no problem what-so-ever getting enough power to ASIC with Y splitter cables; they will even run single cable if you set 40A per rail in the software. Also they run very efficiently with two cubes per PSU.

It is not a multi rail PSU, it just has OCP (which is a good thing!).

The problem is not with the PSU, as KfC are trying to suggest, it's with their 100w per cable "design".

I spoke to Kurt before buying AX1200i, he told me they "should be fine" and I have a recording of the phone call so don't accept that answer! I was told in the same call that a single PCI-e would be fine and they hadn't had any problems using good quality cables because the socket is "fan cooled".

KfC still refuse to do anything about the dead die on my Neptune because it's over 3TH as it is; not exactly what one would call "over deliver".

On a side note I fried my first PCI-e plug at the board end today. Thankfully the OCP kicked in and prevented a possible fire but this was with 16AWG:

I'm glad my lawyer got me a refund.
Cost me around 1000€ in the beginning, but at the end, I got back a full refund of my order and KNC had to pay for my lawyer.

I would very much like to have a copy of his contact details; if he speaks English?

well I likely will get the cables just to be safe...prob just use the corsair 1200i on something else...but get the cables for a 'backup' only kinda thing..heavy duty
cables are probably not a bad idea on the beastie anyway as long as I have such ..contacted the guy selling cables (mods) for this ...we will see

all I can say is what Kurt in the last few days replied to me via PM on knc forums

here is the info/link again I posted here for those with corsair 1200i potential issues

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=170332.msg8030065#msg8030065

again just going by what he said

anyway will get the cables for piece of mind and just use the corsair 1200i on something else and/or just keep it as a rather 'lame' failsafe backup supply? might work as that
if the cables are the issue and I get some more hefty ones...

again the joys of 'stuff' ....too much stuff....www.coinbase.com is looking pretty good vs all this pre-order drama etc

I do make adapters that would allow the for the use of 1200i PSUs with Neptunes and most likely Titans, Searing.  It just uses two PCIe cables instead of one and that bypasses the over current protection.
Definitely cheaper than buying whole new sets of PSUs.  They are in the wild now and no reported issues so far.  Check my post history in this thread for a pic.

i got some on order from him what the heck it is worth a shot via paypal...otherwise my corsair 1200i is a door stop..even if i never use it ...i can have the deluded piece of mind
that maybe i could use it on the Titan if needed as a 'spare' ..likely I will just get whatever KNC says to get for power supply for the Titan...but the heavier duty adapters can't hurt
probably gonna use it on something someday so what the hey...

Found it for you. Smiley  This will spread the current between two PCIe cables and effectively keep the OCP from triggering without using the software.

Alright, I have finished a process for making a heavy duty 2:1 PCIe adapter for Neptune owners.  It is made with 16AWG wires and minifit HCS (high current system) pins capable of 13A.  It is tricky to make with crimping two 16 gauge wires together but I soldered the pins to the wires after crimping for best contact.  I cannot guarantee that the nylon housings at the pcb won't melt so be sure there is some airflow there.

Here she is:

Excellent cable.  I hope I won't need those, but if I do I will happily take a bunch off you.

Have we figured out what is the best PSU for this application (Neppies)?  If so, does anyone have a volume discount arrangement?  I can't imagine everyone is just buying these retail at the local electronics shop.

So you basically made money?   Paid 11 btc or so, and got $10,000 back (which would buy 16.6 btc now)?
Brilliant, instead of buying a machine that makes bitcoin, you invented a refund process that makes even MORE bitcoing the machine.
No he did not make money.  He paid $10k and got back his $10k in another form.
Not true.   He bought a machine that produces bitcoin not dollars (and he bought it with btc).   His refund of the machine produced 5.6 BTC more than he paid.  His refund produced 3x more bitcoin than the machine will over its life.    He did a great trade.

Wouldn't it have been easier to sell the BTC when it was worth $1200 and buy it back at $600?  You know, cut out the middleman, the lawyers, the stress etc...

Hello,

Can someone please tell me what is exact wattage of 1 Neptune brick at the wall (in Europe) using branded PSU, without any overclocking, at stock speed (as advertised)? And what is exact hashrate of the device (average) on panel and on mining pool?
I would like to add this device to my small chart, showing efficiency of various ASIC miners. Thank you!

by  that doggie means Ker-plunk down she goes.....

heh no refunds on anything made batch 3 on (and likely no more neptune refunds anyway now that they are shipping)

90 Warranty now vs previously 1 year

large data hall now vs none last fall

much has changed since KNC went to the dark side....you could say they "BFL'd us customers" for the betterment of KNC ...heh

maybe I really don't want to win the lottery...I could end up being a real 'prick' if I had big bucks if the above slide is any indication!

Old Style Legacy Plug & Play BBS System. Get it from www.synchro.net. Updated 1/1/2021. It also works with Windows 10 and likely 11 and allows 16 bit DOS game doors on the same Win 10 Machine in Multi-Node! Five Minute Install! Look it over it uninstalls just as fast, if you simply want to look it over. Freeware! Full BBS System! It is a frigging hoot!:)
