ZERO is fork of Zcash (Zcash is fork of Bitcoin). It has security of Bitcoin, privacy of Zcash and few other improvements. ZERO includes the best privacy and anonymity technology available today.

Goal of this fork is:
test completely different set of equihash parameters in the wild, chosen parameters: N=192, K=7
these parameters should target generally available hardware for mining
learn from it

All these parameters are improved by this change:
higher time complexity
about 16 times*
higher memory requirements
about 16 times*
faster block verifications
4x
smaller solutions
400 bytes instead of 1344 bytes are inserted in every block

How were these parameters chosen:
abandoning idea of mining on mobile devices
making it hard enought to postpone the risk of ASICs
memory requirements target regular desktop PCs and graphic cards with at least 8GB of RAM

Coin distribution changes:
no founders reward
no premine
no slow start
no halvening
stable supply of coins
minimizing violent mining strategies
removes stressful event that heavily impacts miners and market price
no coin cap
small inflation (smaller and smaller over time)
lowers the early adopter advantage
steady reward for miners can result in lower fees in future
at least some compensation for forever lost coins
1 block per 2 minutes on average
10 coins per block

Distribution:
7200 coins/day (the same rate as BTC and Zcash before the first halvening)
after 1 year:     2 631 600
after 10 years: 26 316 000
after 20 years: 52 632 000
after 30 years: 78 948 000

Does anyone know the meaning of this error?

I have 4 rigs with absolutely same setup (1 gold psu with reserve 40%+ per rig).

OS smos, NV1070, OC: Core+125, Memory 0, PowerLimit 99w, TargetTemp 69c.

One rig from time to time (1 hour to 10 hours) reboots with theese:

CUDA: Device: 5 Thread exited with code: 4
CUDA: Device: 1 Thread exited with code: 4
CUDA: Device: 4 Thread exited with code: 4
CUDA: Device: 2 Thread exited with code: 4
CUDA: Device: 3 Thread exited with code: 4
CUDA: Device: 0 Thread exited with code: 4

Does anyone know the meaning of this error?
Sounds like too much OC, only 100W on a 1070 isn't giving much voltage to the core. I would try +50 core and see if it runs better.

nicely said.

So sorry, sometimes I forget what language I write.

..meanwhile... in my case the rig simply hangs with this miner. I will try to test all cards one by one.

I did the math there
there is always a deviation of 5 - 10 %.
the configuration is my old RIG

about 40 Zero coins per day
https://www.cryptocompare.com/mining/calculator/zec?HashingPower=1650&HashingUnit=H%2Fs&PowerConsumption=800&CostPerkWh=0.25

Hi All,

I recently mine ZCash with 6x 1070, I only get 420 sol per GPU.
I use EWBF miner and flypool.

I saw people are getting 440 sol at least, how would it be possible?

My current setting:
Power: 80%
Clock: +150
Memory: +300 (seems no impact for memory, I tried +700 also no increment on sol rate).
I am running at Windows 10 with latest NVIDIA driver.

Note: I was getting 31mh/s at ETH.

Any recommended step to fix? Like change driver to certain version?

Thanks in advance!

I'm getting 476 to 456 on my 1070's here.  A little better.
My settings on MSI Afterburner are..
Power limit is 90
Temp 80
Core Clock 140
Mem Clock +555

Not sure if its the best, but I just followed someone's settings and seems to work.

Curious, what is your total efficiency with those numbers?

Not too sure,. I'm sooooo new at this... but here is what I see.. after 2 days overnight mining.

zcash.flypool says
Hashrates....1.5kH/s 1.7 kH/s
Immature Balance 0.00074 ZEC
Unpaid Balance 0.00608 ZEC
Active Workers 1
Shares 55(100%) /0 (0%)

Seems to be working?   Unless someone on here can say I fucked it all up..  lol

Me too. Set up the local web portal on your miner. It's included with the software. It will tell you your total watts consumed and speed so you have an idea of the actual efficiency of the rig.

1070's Temp 70 C
Power 139 W
Speed 467 Sol/s
Efficiency 3.47 Sol/W... average

Btw,.., from some previous posts about crashes.  In MSI Afterburner,. make sure your setting Celcius,. or Fahrenheit correctly.!

I would like to ask: if my pool difficulty is very high, can the dev fee actually reduce more than 2% my mining performances? (ex. The gpu is interrupted in the middle of the high difficulty share to mine the 2%)

--ypsi

I've removed OC (Core-0, Memory-0, PowerLimit-99w, TargetTemp-69c, MinFan-45%) - rig did not reboot for 20 hours - will update if it will.

So, yes, "CUDA: Device: 5 Thread exited with code: 4" - seemed to be caused by that +125mhz Core offset.

Thanks!

Did anyone experience the problem, that mining stops, but the miner don't write an error code?
If I restart manually the miner it continous the mining like nothing happened... What should I do to avoid this?

You can try MinerKeeper. It will not tell you what happened, but it will restart miner automatically and send you a notification about it.

Yea, i tried also. You need optiminer-zero to mine that. But i guess he posted it to promote the new Zero coin which is a fork from Zec.

I am more worried about the volume. Very hard to sell it after you have mined it when daily volume is so low.
