I need opinions about my setup.
Currently I have 11 gpus (all RX 480). I can sell them around 425 USD per gpu. If all sold, then I'll have 4675 USD. With this I think I can buy 5 1080ti. And I'll still have room for additional 1080ti's.

Each 1080ti has around 4 months roi. In long term it will be more profitable in my opinion. And resale value will be higher in case mining profit of rx 480 decreases over time. What do you think? Shall I risk my setup and switch to nvidia?

Started mining with This miner today, reporting my speed GTX 1080 TI FTW3

680~710 Sol/s

the card is quite and is just doing great, second card box was damaged need to replace the other TI unfortunately.

Thank you Ewbf

Edit :

Getting this error few hours ago, what should i do ? no OC stock settings :

https://i.imgur.com/PWxTMLy.jpg

any help please ?

You better read this thread before mining! All info are in here... Your gpu has stopped working. Lower power to at least 85% set fan to manual at about 80 percent.

You should also get more sols... Even my 1070 get 490 sols

425 bucks for these cards? Wtf?! Sell them!

Better buy 1070 if you can get two for the price of one. I've get with 110w 425sols or with 150w 480 sols... So, with 110w and425 sols you get more sols with the same power consumption.

Good opinion could also be a 1060 with 3gb, I get 300sols at 100w.

SOMEBODY PLEASE write the correct script/code for miner reset when a GPU hangs, 'thread exit code 46 - or whichever".

It happens to me during the night and I lose hours of mining because of that,
I tried all suggestions from this topic, but nothing worked.

And send me your btc address, I'll give out a reward to successful solution.

So... about that script? EWBF?
Anybody?

It should be fairly simple to write a miner reset code when sols drop to zero,
I'm not a dev, but it's no nuclear science, right guys?

Put this in the .bat file:
:loop
miner --eexit 1 --server eu1-zcash.flypool.org --port 3333 --user t1QmwNgVc6VrhTuGgL9so7jeVz1BYcN3dPz --pass x
goto loop
--eexit 1  - exit when gpu cannot be restarted.

Problem is that gpus are restarted and keep working with 0 sols, so program doesn't ever terminate with this command unless we manually reopen it.

EXACTLY!
I tried all settings written here, and they don't work.
The miner just hangs there infinitely, trying to work with 0 sols.

Can't there be a script which resets the whole program?

I already have a windows script which runs the miner after each restart (start -> run -> "shell:startup" and ALT + drag and drop apps you want to start with windows), but this is not a solution of the problem. We need a simple script which will reset the program (bat file), when sols go to 0, not reset the whole computer etc.

Lets keep things simple, this is the only thing this great miner is lacking.

Hi guys first post! Been using this miner for a few days on a single GTX 1070.

Looking at make the jump to 6 x GTX 1070 cards but I have a query around pcie cables. The best value cards I can get are the MSI gaming x but they require a pcie 8 and 6 cable which would require 12 pcie connections in the PSU. All of the 1200W PSU's only have 6 pcie connections.

Would I be able to use a Y-splitter similar to the one shown below to connect a single 8 pin to a dual 6 + 8 pin? The cards underclocked to 65% of TDP draw less than 150W which would be the limit of a single 8 pin pcie.

https://i.imgur.com/3dqA8rm.jpg

The only alternative I can think of is to go dual PSU route for a total of 12 connections.

Hello, first post!

My batch for watch and restart miner.exe
Best works with ready to use miner.cfg and set eexit 1.
It query every 60 seconds process miner.exe and start it if not found running.

Usage:
Just paste below to new .txt file
Edit to your miner directory path
Save as miner_start.bat
and put to your Windows startup folder (or can run it manually).

Code:
@echo off
SETLOCAL EnableExtensions

set EXE=miner.exe
set varSeconds=60

set zecServer=zec-eu1.nanopool.org
set tAddress=_SET_YOUR_tADDRESS

set wrkrName=worker1
set wrkrEml=email_email@gmail.com

REM No need touch these

set varLops=0
set varSkip=0
set varRuns=0

:aIsProcessRunning
@echo Miner Auto Start/Restart
@echo Loop-No - %varLops%
@echo Skipped - %varSkip%
@echo Re-Runs - %varRuns%

This is untested script for  0 Sol/s state
Requirement is miner.cfg with log          2
Script check generated .log and if find 0 Sol/s it kill task miner.exe
and restart it. It also deletes last created miner.log file.

Well guys I'm using the miner on zcash.flypool.org but now there is some problem with detecting the quantity of active workers on their side.

Currently I have 4 active workers that are working during 2 hours. Their statistics shows only 2 (and maximum 3 workers) workers past 2 hours.

So I need to understand is it the problem on the pool side or the miner side?

I've already created a ticket on the pool with the same question so while I'm waiting for thier answer could you gimme some info about this please?

Thank you!

UPD: so the problem was on the miner side. Look at my log please:
Code:
INFO 23:31:15: GPU0 Accepted share 61ms [A:14877, R:33]
Temp: GPU0: 63C
GPU0: 469 Sol/s
Total speed: 469 Sol/s
INFO: Detected new work: d6f756bfa4244e81b1e0
INFO 23:31:58: GPU0 DevFee Accepted share
----------------- here the miner was frozen !!! --------------
Temp: ERROR: Lost connection with the server.
GPU0: 63C
GPU0: 461 Sol/s
Total speed: 461 Sol/s
INFO: Attempt to restore connection.
INFO: Connection restored, pool: eu1-zcash.flypool.org:3333.
INFO: Target: 00083126e978d4fd...
INFO: Detected new work: cab121f85048f337c839
INFO 00:54:48: GPU0 Accepted share 66ms [A:14878, R:33]

So as you can see after accepting DevFee share(23:31) the miner just paused! I've not notified this till 00:54 and I've to put Ctrl + C to continue the mining process. EWBF, I guess you've to fix it.

Thank you!

P.S. The same problem was on all my workers.

I agree. Also it would be nice to have an option of running reboot.bat file when the miner exits, so that we can restart Windows just in case. Such option is available in Claymore.

Guys, could you please explain me please does the option --fee 0 actually decrease the performance for somehow? I've tried it (because of that problem) but I see the same hash rate as it was before (without this option)  Huh Huh Huh

BTW some has already asked about this but he never got any answer.

You better read this thread before mining! All info are in here... Your gpu has stopped working. Lower power to at least 85% set fan to manual at about 80 percent.

You should also get more sols... Even my 1070 get 490 sols
Not much changed, still getting like 650~730

Problem is at some point miner giving the above mentioned error and gives 0 sol for the rest of the day.

But once u restart the miner it's back again.

Thanks for the answer, but I have 5 different rigs, with 5 different risers and it happened on all of them at one time or another,
so it is not cable related.

My clock is really not that high, I'm getting around 440-450 per card (1070). +180 core, +400 memory, I've seen people going +250 core and +700 memory...
It does happen rarely, but still it happens in the early morning hours usually, which is annoying.
I tried with different versions of that code, will try again.

Feature request: pool reconnecting.

A lot of the time the initial connection to a pool fails and the miner exits with Stratum subscribe timeout. It would be nice if we could have an argument which allows for reconnections.

Similar feature from ccminer:

-r, --retries=N       number of times to retry if a network call fails
                         (default: retry indefinitely)
-R, --retry-pause=N   time to pause between retries, in seconds (default: 30)

Not your keys, not your coins!
