The Bitcoin software, network, and concept is called "Bitcoin" with a capitalized "B". Bitcoin currency units are called "bitcoins" with a lowercase "b" -- this is often abbreviated BTC.

Unfortunately, yes, it's a leftover from the days when 1btc was about $7.  You need 1btc to move any out of your mtgox wallet.

Your best bet?  Sell you btc, and use bitinstant with the mtgox coupon to move it to a new address.  Lot's of fees, but 80% of you money is better than 0%.

Thanks, I was unaware of the 1 BTC limit at Mt.Gox. I'll stay away from them.

I just transferred about 0.019 BTC out of MtGox.  The trick was to put a leading zero before the decimal point, and not to include "BTC" or anything like that. Their website does leave a little to be desired.

Great tip for anyone trying to get their last coinage out of Gox! Everything about Gox leaves a lot to be desired.

you have to put a zero before the decimal for anything smaller than 1BTC

Too true. Post was from April 2013. I'd only just joined the forum then. Seems like a lifetime ago Smiley
