This happened to me one time only when a neighbor of mine who is curious of Bitcoin asked me if I can sell him $200 worth of Bitcoin. I agreed but and both of us settled with how much the price is but my neighbor want to see how the transfer will be done. Transferring $200 worth of Bitcoin is like an eternity with my neighbor looking at his watch from time to time as we check how many confirmations already.

Good question. I haven't done any face to face exchanges. Perhaps I was afraid of the risk involved that's why I don't like the idea. However, if is just a small amount and I know the person, like $100-$500 worth of bitcoin, just maybe I have the nerve and go with it. I read stories before in the forum, when I was just starting my bitcoin journey, that someone here trades didn't end well and probably it just stuck on my head since then.

I exchanged crypto currency in this way only with friends or very close acquaintances. In the future I hope this will be more common and it will be possible to do this even with strangers.

I've been using BTC for a while. I've been using it at exchanges, to trade altcoins and to order goods over the Internet, but I've never exchanged BTC with someone in front of me. At a store or between friends, or family. This despite having had long conversations about BTC with various kinds of people, and attending a few meetups.

Who has exchanged BTC F2F?

Even though my country prohibits bitcoin from being used as a transaction tool, I often do it every day until now, especially to buy goods for daily needs (incidentally, the shop near my home has a BTC wallet) and borrow or lend it, to friends who I know.

A face to face meet up to exchange Bitcoin with a stranger seems like it would posses a high chance of issues arising.   I doubt I would ever attempt this unless I was desperate.

In past we were using urdubit for converting our bitcoin in to our local currency, but after banning bitcoin by the banks, now for most of the time we are using bitcoin to sell it directly  to buyer, therefore for most of the time we sell bitcoin to other people fact to face.

I have bought my Bitcoin in ATM if it is counted, because it is like face to face but you are facing not a human but a bot, which just calculate all the things that are needed in order to sell your Bitcoin.

Yes in most of the countries they have prohibited their people from using bitcoin or its transaction, but still people there finding some ways to use it for shopping and for other purposes. In my country we also have the same situation, and that is the reason that I now mostly do transaction from face to face.

We have the similar but not the same case here in our area. There is one rich guy, he was the first to begin trading crypto among us, we give him cash euros and he sends us Bitcoins to our wallets when we need.

I don't have this kind of face-to-face trading experience with Bitcoin, but comparing to exchange trading, i dont thing F2F is better than exchange. Because the efficiency of F2F is too low, and the security is way lower than exchange. In my opinion, face-to-face trading is suitable for a large number of bitcoin transactions, because this trading method will not affect the market.

Two weeks ago, a friend came to my apartment in need of 500$ equivalent in Bitcoin. And so i put on my wifi and made a quick transfer from my wallet into his. I am pretty sure this is equivalent to exchanging Bitcoin face to face. The truth is, it was not so special but it was fun having to send money in it digital form from my wallet into a pals wallet in exchange for US dollar..

still in the corridor of individual business, this is against the law in my country, I have done several times in several meetings, but only with partners that I know well, transactions are easier when meeting, there is a big element of mutual trust with good communication. only need to use android and the transaction runs fast.

I personally like selling BTC on an exchange than face to face. Especially when the price of BTC is so high, these are some big money in game.

I have exchanged bitcoin face to face many times with friends of friends at exchange rate  Because they just wanted bought worth of 1000 Rs. and they prefer buy from me because they don't want to go such long procedure to buy small amount of bitcoin.
Now a days many exchange come up with P2P feature which is also like instant and safe way to trade bitcoin
