What else? Tell me soon! Otherwise, we will run out of money!
We need to look at a forum on which video cards have the most problems. I have not been able to run CN-heavy on the RX 560 2GB...

you need an 8gb rx580, because CN heavy is different.
you need a Vega 56
take a nvda 1070 8gb Smiley just because you need to beat it with an RX on X16r

I think differences between RX 550/560 and RX 570/580 are substantial enough for optimization.
I do have a Vega 56 by XFX. I definitely need a Vega 64, though.

How about legacy cards? I sold all of my GCN1/2 cards except for 7990's.
I should get a used 290X for GCN2 at the very least.

Sorry, I have to change my vote from x17 to Allium or groestl, if you believe we can come close to Nvidia performance.

To be fair: there is more money in x17, but there is more competition.
On x16r there are 2 others miners based on old sgminer as well as x17 just arrived .

I'm old , and very bad as developer but I will do

1) make a Linux special edition
2)improve CN in all variant
3)Finish ( translate, make it faster x16R/S)
4) X17 ( and all the algos included give the option to mine just for that, like it was for sgminer)
5) Allium and Groestl may be smaller, but with less competition.

I will not spend 1 dollar in old high power card, buy a watt meter with the same money. People is looking at stability and power consumption, at least in europe

HAPPY THAT YOU ARE CONSIDERING A VEGA 64--

Get a Sapphire Nitro+ model.  They are the Cadillac of the AMD breed, and have recently dropped to normal market prices.  Other programmers have neglected this model, and you would do well to shine with performance tweaks for this beast.  A single card can outperform an entire rig of RX 560s or GTX 1060s, both in hash rate and power consumption.

Linux builds of your code need attention also.  Serious miners have headless linux rigs that run from the command line.  I have several rigs now, and they are all linux.  I have tried your code on my Win 7 x64 box, it is good, but my miners run on linux.

The best of luck for your efforts!       --scryptr

In GG cli (gatelessgate-0.1.3-pre6b-win64) an RX560 2GB genarates exactly 50% of an RX570 4GB in CN with 2 threads arround 420Hs:
  "rawintensity": "384",
  "worksize": "8",
  "gpu-threads": "2",

Zawawa,

1st off, i reset my MSI RX 570 4gb gaming x to stock bios to test it with your timings optimization (dude afaik, timings on the fly are better than custom timings cause they DO automate strap optimization) Do make optimization MINE FOR DEVELOPER, during the tuning! it will also save us the hassle of adding own wallets and GGS giving errors when asked to optimize algo that has no pool/wallet or off pool for any reason.
 Let it be Optimization "by default" to dev pool/wallet and people can change them as they want! I say so cause this tool, is separate from mining..... its a truly good thing.

However, my 570 gives blue screens (thread stuck)once i start optimization, with it being the only selected GPU in main screen. for algo or timing optimizations.

2nd thing is, my 390 is it supported? why no timings optimizations for it? i thought its an automated process, so adding the script isn't hard?

Those 390,290/X etc. are behemoths but stranegly they don't shine in Cryptinght Heavy or so...
The Best i can share with you is that 740~840 Intensity, 2 threads, 4 Work size for some reason are the best (can nearly beat claymore's, 390 with claymore 10.2 used to get 870 h/s 1000 mhz core only) those though, are much better in Equihash, claymore gives them 380-390 h/s (which is best performance for Hawaii)
not sure though, how the hell is a 512 bit memory bus, and 40/44 compute units are barely able to do anything near a polaris 570 @@

Some notes i would share......
I run a full 560 rig, 16 CU, 2 GB Hynix/Elpida those are blitz fast, and most importantly MEMORIES are different, some can fit the Golden 448 intensity, 2 threads, 8 work size (convert that to GG intensity) with non cooled memory it does 540 h/s in your old GG or GGS (now with v7, and me buying more 2gb ones, rig restarts vaguely with anything higher than 416-432, still SOME brands support up to 448) not sure, if Linux would allow more available memory on the GPU after setting those Max_Alloc parameters in OpenCL

Best of luck, keep up the good work.

Just a quick note: Blue screens during optimization of overclocking settings and memory timings are expected, and you would need a solid mechanism for automatic reboots. (I use an USB watchdog.)
With that, you can set up GGS for automatic recoveries during optimization.
Also, you need to find a "sweet spot" for clocks and voltages and to be careful about certain parameters such as TCL and TWEDC/TREDC.

As for 390, I am still debating myself whether I should upgrade memory timing mods to support it.
I will probably work on Fiji and Vega first.

You mean, you want me to sell hardware? Never thought about that...

Edit: Now I think about it, I can make a USB/Ethernet watchdog on my own with Raspberry Pi or something like that.
All I need is an USB slave and a couple of relays. Interesting...

Thanks! Your suggestions were very helpful, and I just ordered new AMD cards.
Can't wait to get my hands on them...

What I meant is, if possible, just ad the watchdog program to GGS package so that we can put it on a USB key and use it "out of the box".
