thanks for posting this - very helpfull.
Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

Yes, thanks for the clarification.  I thought activity was the number of posts and was wondering why my activity wasn't increasing.  A "floating" activity count like this make more sense.

No, you have to have at least 1 post per 2 weeks to be able to gain activity.

Better to report him/it than answering him/it. The effort made to find this old topic and not reading it or not taking a look on the active sticky topics is questionable!

Yeah I know I often do report them but the system is not easy to understand for newbies and I had the feeling about this one and I just thought I'll answer instead.
