I was thinking I reached beta stage with my website, lets try some more serious advertising to get more users...

so I have made deposit of 0.02 BTC to mellowads and I order CPM advertising on moonbit.co.in according to mellowstats it has 124.000 unique views per day, so I thought it would be enough at least for 2 hours.  Well, believe or not, I was done in 15 minutes and I received 15 visitors.

Thats what I call a good way to waste your bitcoins... Cheesy Cheesy

lol, that doesnt seem right - 0.02 BTC for 15 impressions seems a high rate!
ive used Mellow before and never had any problem like that

i dont quite understand though - did you pay for CPM ads or for 2 hours?
i thought with CPM ads it would just run until you got the impressions, not for a specific amount of time?

Try network campaign next time, it gives me far better results compared to CPM or CPC campaigns.

No, I paid for 10.000 unique impressions and I thought it will be okay for 2 hours.

well that site (moonbit) does millions of visits per day so i wouldnt expect it to take 2 hours to get to 10.000 uniques.
so did you get 10.000 impressions or just 15?

and was the cpm rate actually 0.002? that seems a lot

Yes, cmp is 0.0015. I did not say that I got 15 impressions, I said I received 15 visitors from all views.

You should expect a CTR of 1-2% per 1000 CPM, that's the "normal" for bitcoin ad nets from what I've noticed

i dont think you get that high CTR unless some click-fraud is going on tbh

a quick bit of analysis of the stats showing on their sites shows...

Mellow (last 7 days)
922.185.613 impressions
803.534 clicks
ctr = 0.09%

Coinad (last 30 days)
731.457.522 impressions
807.558 clicks
ctr = 0.11%

A-ads (per day average?)
96.373.240 impressions
176.998 clicks
ctr = 0.18%

so the CTR seems to be around 0.1-0.2% - thats 10x smaller than you said!
who knows how many of these clicks are "real" vs "fraud" - i guess thats down to how good the networks fraud detection systems are
also this doesnt take into account the cpm rates for any of those 3 networks. just because one has a better CTR doesnt mean its better value for money!!!

btw, CTR for Quimby88's ad was 15 clicks in 10000 impressions = 0.15% so pretty much exactly as expected going on the stats above Smiley

That's why you should choose interstitial advertisements... At least you'll get a few return from your ad network... Smiley

Well, it was extremely expensive experience, specially If I got 15 visitors and 1 sign up. Its even much more effective btcclicks, or that network advertising... next time.

kind of depends what you are advertising - for some people 1 sign up from 10.000 ad impressions would be a great result Wink

Woah, woah, woah!

My bad, I meant 0.15-0.2%. I had just woken up and saw the thread. Apologies and thanks for correcting that up.
