ok so i got a free HD7770 from a friend instead of using that crappy nvidia card i was trying to start mining with. I'm running windows 8 and gui miner v2012-12-03. Now i just need some suggestions for the best flag options i should use to optimize my hashing How high can i get this card running? Overclocking suggestions welcomed as well. What do you guys think i should use for flags? any help with that would be appreciated. thank you Billy the Bit miner

I run Linux and use CGminer, so I can't help you much. Just play with the settings and wait 5-10 minutes for the hash rate to average out.
Also, if you're interested in over/underclocking your GPU without changing the voltage (almost 0% risk of ruining your card), I believe Trixx is a good one.
If you do decide to over/underclock, you want your core to be as high as possible. I have an AMD 6790 running at 980/130 and it's pulling about 220Mh/s with an average temperature of 60C

I've been using a 7770 with guiminer as well. I've only used the presets that guiminer has for the 7770, no extra flags, and not overclocking and I get up to 180 Mh/s. I'd be interested to know too if it could be tweaked to work any better.

ok thanks yeah ive overclocked it at just under max setting for over clock on catalyst control center uped my fan speed on it and its seems stable and its getting about 220-250 mh/s but ill try to boost it more thanks. ill try the 256 but why is it better than 128? just because its working on cracking the harder blocks ? And whats this error i get once in a while that stops my mining: long pool IO error?

dont forget to research overclocking... sometimes lowering the MEMORY and upping the voltage a bit makes a huge diff

yeah low clock memory and high gpu settings seems to be the most stable with the best hash results. i think i have it as efficient for power consumption with the best hash rate i can get with this card now.

also think i understand why im getting the long poll error sometimes this is what deepbit says in their site: "We notify your bitcoin miner about new block with the help of long polling. This allows to minimize the number of stale shares."
