Hello, I want to buy something with BitCoins on The Silk Road, it is 100% legal so relax.

How do I make this as safe as possible? Can anyone explain how I use Escrow for The Silk Road? Thanks.

Even if you use Bitcoin through Tor, the way transactions are handled by the network makes anonymity difficult to achieve. Do not expect your transactions to be anonymous unless you really know what you're doing.

So I don't need to setup Escrow manually? It says on the Silk Road; NEVER go around Escrow and pay the seller directly. How do I use Escrow? That guide did not give me a good answer on Escrow.

When you put something in your cart and then buy it the money automatically goes into escrow. So once you receive your product, you go back to your orders tab and click on the finalize button next to the product. Then the seller receives his money. This eliminates sellers scamming buyers. What they are warning about is that some sellers want to sell to you out of escrow where they will have you send bitcoins straight to their bitcoin wallet. If you do this then you are not going through their site and therefore not the escrow system so you are liable to getting scammed. Some sellers are legit that do this, they just want to get their money right away instead of waiting for you to receive the product and click finalize. But I wouldn't do it unless you really want the product, it's not too much money, and you trust the seller.
