I doubt anyone will lend you 0.5btc for that thing.  Your return shipping costs will be more than the loan itself.

Do you understand how collateral works?  You SHIP the laptop to the person before they lend you the coins.  Then when you pay back the coins, the laptop is SHIPPED back to you.  How can you not worry about shipping costs?

Finding a buyer for old $200 laptop is going to be very difficult, so I doubt anyone will accept it as collateral.

can't you just ring up elec company and tell them you will be abit late ? In Australia you can just ignore the bill for months and months (esp elec/gas) if you wanted and they wouldn't do anything for ages... If you just rang and said i'll pay in a month or whatever usually that would be fine too.. again, especially with elec/gas and those sort of essential services...

unless ofcourse you are already months and months overdue.. in which case it wouldn't be looking good for you..

I just need to pay some bills until I get paid next Thursday. Specifically my electricity bill. I didn't get enough hours last payroll and this payroll they overloaded me with hours so I'll be able to pay back no problem.
