If 7970 if you can find one that cheap, 7950 otherwise.

Your gear is fine, though if you are only running one gpu, you won't need a 600W psu. I'd swap it out with a smaller 80+ platinum.

Wanted the possibility to add more GPUs in the future. Not sure that it will support 3 cards tho?Tongue
Do you think everything will fit in the case i selected?

A mini itx mb can only ever support one card. Your case can fit basically any size gpu according to their website.

That board has two x16 slots, and four other pcie slots. That means two cards will fit in directly, and you may be able to get more working using risers.

If you want three gpus, you'll want a bigger case with better airflow.

According to the website i´m buying from its 3x 16x ports.

Think i´ll go for the 7970 card, if the litecoin mining dosent work out i can always get a decent gaming desktop out of it, with a bit more ram and maybe another CPU.
Should i get the one that is OC edition? its the cheapest one of the bunch.

Btw, is 4gb of RAM gonna be enough with that card?

or put it in a plastic box for $10

In Atlanta, plastic melts in the summer.

If you live in a hot location and are increasing the temperature by mining, you need something more sturdy, aluminum.
why would you operate your mining equipment in an environment that causes plastic to melt?

It is pitch black. You are likely to be eaten by a grue.

I misread the x4 speed pcie 16 as an x4 slot. Yes, it does look like that mb will fit three cards without a problem.

4gb is enough for one card. You might want 8 if you load out with three cards.

get a full tower case if you whant to run it closed, more fans.
the HAF midtower is the best cooling at midtower size.

I like the 3 fans gigabyte cards. Grin I have 2 6970 and they run much cooler the the refernce design 6970

i second the open case idea, a lot more freedom and keeps temps down better, not to mention you can really built it yourself for very cheap if you are saving money on it.

why is everyone saying that you need at least 2GB+ for each GPU when mining LTC? My rig is using 1,45GB or ram with 2x7970 mining LTC

Open case would be cool!

Gonna search the interwebz for a cheap one with reasonable postage price to europe.
Full tower would wreck my budget even more! Already up about 400$ more than i originally planned:P

Cba building my own case at this point.

Thanks for the link. Think i´ll go for http://www.coolermaster.com/product.php?product_id=6674 case insted.

After a quick google search, apperently the x16 extenders are expensive as hell here in sweden(compared to ebay)
Cba ebaying it, and running around town gather the other materials, so think i´ll go for a propper case insted.
Besides, the most cheap ones are shipped from china, and it takes ages for it to get here:P

Have you ever thought about using a case like this

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-189-LL

rather than standard PC case?

You're going to put a 7950 inside a mini-ITX case?  Have you thought things through?

First off I don't know if the card will fit in that case.  The MSI and Gigabyte 7950s won't even fit inside some of my mid tower cases.

Second, you want to disperse 300W of Heat inside a mini-ITX?  Every hear of the Big Band theory?  Tongue Roll Eyes

Good thing i posted here then:P
So i should aim for another motherboard/case then ? Since its mini-ITX aswell.

I would recommend stick with the motherboard, and instead have an open air case using just plastic crates. That seems to be easier.

Z77 motherboard is an expensive way of doing it.  Plenty of cheaper AMD boards out there which take 4 GPUs no problem.  Stick in a cheap Athlon chip, job done.
