When other coins start developing qr tech what will give qrl a competitive advantage?

What else is qrl developing?
How will it leverage its tech to create value?

Comparing one shitcoin to other shitcoins still results in them being shitcoins - what's your point?
Just because one is 100x overvalued doesn't make buying another one at 'only' 10x overvalued a good buy. That is horrible logic. They are both still overvalued.
I don't thing QRL is overvalued atm.
Once they launch MainNet price will start rising. The basic idea of Quantum worth much more than current price.

If we only valued projects based on ICO price, then Bancor & EOS must be awesome!  Perhaps the dev team of QRL decided they didn't need $25 million to bring their project to market and are allowing early investors to be rewarded for their faith in the team.  I only wish more projects would do this, not less.  To then say that QRL is overvalued because it is "x" times ICO price is lazy at best.  The question is, what upside potential does QRL have if they successfully launch MainNet and are proved to have the most secure crypto in this space in regards to quantum computing hacks.  If you think the answer to that question is #90 or lower on CMC, then by all means buy something else.  If you think the value of being quantum secure is a top 30 coin (or better) as many do, then today's prices are a worthy value play.

That was my thinking as well. I doubled my position today at near the low. Great post!

How do you know this was at the near low? QRL bounced a bit and is now back on its way down - for all you know it could be trading at half the current price in 6 hours or 24 hours.
All you did was take a gamble - all the best with that. You know there are btc casinos around here right - it's a much faster way to gamble.

Not quite right. When you buy in on a roulette table and go all in on red, that's called gambling. You don't know what the outcome will be but you're taking a 50/50 chance that it will land on red.
QRL (as with all crypto) is a gamble. You hope that it will ultimately increase in price from the price you bought in at. However, you don't just buy any crypto hoping that it goes up. You choose your investments farefully. QRL has a lot of promise and is attempting to do something new. I think it has a lot of promise and when buying in there's a lot more to it than that.

Haha you are kidding right. Come on you are a smart guy, read again what you just wrote. The only promise you care about is how much money you are hoping this coin makes for you. If QRL solves a major world problem but there is no financial gain in it - you wouldn't care one bit.
The day the quantum age starts, i guarantee you there will be plenty of other things happening in the world because of it other than a mad rush to buy QRL as the safe haven.

If you buy this coin thinking you're doing anything other than gambling, you're delusional. This coin gets a massive thumbs down.

You can have logic behind your portfolio so you are not gambling. QRL is a long hold as you wait for quantum computing to be democratic for the coin to gain in value. But it is also a massive quick buck that one early investor made. The ICO was 4 million, the devs are nice serious PHDs, who didn't ask for more than 4 m.
When the ICO was at 2 million a whale saw the opportunity in this great pitch. Bought half of the project (the last 2 M), than pumped like crazy the coin in the first days and had a tremendous return.  This guy wasn't gambling and the beginning of the quotation of the QRL explains a lot of the price today. without this investor and his pump the project would be forgotten about.

Wow this is unbelievable. I thought QRL will be good project. Peter Waterland and JP Lomas should come here and clear their name. Otherwise lawsuits will be filed with the relevant authorities.

How can Bitcointalk change this to scam alert? It seems no work has been done on the project since $4m was raised in May. The founders took the money and abandon the project.

They did not abandon the project. There are a number of issues, but abandonment is not something that has occurred.

A Letter to the Community...
To the QRL Community

I am writing to the community because of recent actions taken by my co-founders Peter Waterland and JP Lomas over the last month. In light of these actions, I feel that I have an obligation to express my serious concerns about a number of broken promises by Peter and JP to the community and to myself. I expect that these broken promises will have a significant and negative impact on the direction and fate of the project. I hope the community will demand answers from Peter and JP and force them to do the right thing.
When Peter, JP and I initially began the process to raise funds to create a viable quantum resistant Proof of Stake blockchain network, I had high expectations for what we were capable of accomplishing. $100 per QRL Token or approximately $11.5 Billion is the value I assessed for this project assuming the delivery of a high quality core code base using a simple benefit-cost risk assessment of quantum computing on blockchain networks.
However, after we successfully raised over $4.1 Million worth of BTC/ETH based on what the three of us had told the investing community about what and how we would do things, Peter and JP changed course and started breaking the promises they made to you as well as to me.
First, according to Peter’s presale parameters that he told the investing community about before the fund raising, Peter promised to establish a Foundation to handle the raised funds and incentivize the development team by tying allocations to milestones. This has not happened.
Instead, Peter and JP have created a private UK organization, without my knowledge or input, that does not include any phased vesting schedule tied to development milestones and research goals of the project. When I raised concerns regarding the lack of documentation and the failure to establish a proper governance model under a Foundation, I received carefully worded replies that were thin on substance and evasive in nature, suggesting to me that they had no interest in keeping that promise.
Perhaps most troubling is that Peter appears to have taken his allocation (1.4 million QRL) and moved over 90% of the funds to Bittrex. This concerns me because it shows that he’s not committed to or does not have faith in the success of the project. Here is the address where you can track Peter’s allocation of funds.
Second, the community was promised financial oversight by “3 different founding members of the QRL” — myself, Peter and JP. This has not happened. Instead, Peter and JP have cut me out of the process and I have no input or ability to access the funds to make sure they are used for purposes of the project.
In fact, Peter informed me that he considers himself a “dictator” to do as he pleases. If that wasn’t bad enough, JP confirmed that view of Peter as a dictator when he told me.....

The Function and responsibilities of Jomari Peterson is meant to be Strategy and Operations. The function is not exclusive to the agreement. If you reference Peter's blog post he referenced 3 founders of which Jomari Peterson was 1.

Jomari Peterson is not listed on team member page on QRL website. Is this for real? Maybe the other two can come here and explain.

QRL major drop now.

Last one out turn of the lights. From this price levels the crash will be incredible. I so nearly invested but instead put more into XTRABYTES which ironically everyone was calling a scam is now showing its legit and massive. Sell and jump into xby you will recoup your losses in a couple of weeks and profit. Dont say i didnt tell you...

Bought in ICO, sold out now.  Was looking to long term hold, seems I should have just sold when it pumped.

Thank you for the transparency, depending how this shakes out in the next few days a legal action may be required to recover lost value.

The address provided does indeed show over a million QRL moving to Bittrex, which looks like the founder cashed out in the hype.

More BTC for XBY at least.

What is the value of sweet words when 1) there is evidence of over a million founder coins moving onto Bittrex and 2) the last github commit was 19 days ago?

The statement in the slack notes that Peter has paid out of pocket for everything.  This doesn't make any sense in the context of him moving a million founder coins onto Bittrex, and them not having set up a proper foundation or funding structure after raising $4m months ago!  Without that how are they paying developers?  This stinks to high heaven.
