Yeah now more and more users have started using bitcoin for all their regular shopping needs. In reality bitcoin acceptance is not found stable. Several firms have started to accept bitcoin and in a short they close the service just because of the reduced usage of users.
But, there are no exact reason why those merchants closed their service because internal problem or like you said because of users. When that merchants really have huge traffic and clients they doesn't have a reason to close their services.
Indeed all originated from internal problems, if any internal problems can't be fixed or solved wisely, it will have an impact on services and any bad service will increasingly create a problem where merchants will be difficult to restore confidence.
