Telegram.org is an encrypted open source clone of whats app.
KNC Wallet is fork of the Bitcoin for android wallet which allows you to send BTC to phone contacts who also have the app.

Is it possible to make a plugin/extension/fork for telegram.org that would allow the sending of btc to phonebook contacts aswell as the instant messaging capabilities that telegram does so well?

I think the combination of the functionality of these two apps would be amazing.

I am not a coder. Is this technically possible to combine the 2 and what would be the best way to go about doing it?

A friend is working on same project.
Btw its possible, and its also possible to make a whatsapp tip system without need of android coding . Someone just need to make a bot that can take commands, then connect it with mobile+ whatsapp /telegram and bitcoin but the only problem will be centralization and trust.

For eg:
Users can make a wallet by sending a message to bot.
Fund it normally and then use the same bot to send funds with commands like

Send 0.01 BTC 9198383762 (mob number) or by writing contact name.
