The grue lurks in the darkest places of the earth. Its favorite diet is adventurers, but its insatiable appetite is tempered by its fear of light. No grue has ever been seen by the light of day, and few have survived its fearsome jaws to tell the tale.

Ok, so, I'm relatively new to this game, I checked mooncoin on https://chainz.cryptoid.info/moon/#!rich and I see that somebody has 20% and other 14% of the coins, this is a lot. Does anybody knows who's wallets are those?

We need more miners! Any spare GPU or ASIC power would be appreciated, at least for the time being, until
we change the algorithm to a more efficient, level playing field type. Smiley

Hi,

Thank you

MOON was listed on the now defunct Cryptsy exchange; when Cryptsy went down it also took all the
coins in the accounts registered on Cryptsy. The two biggest wallets and many other wallets were then
wiped off the blockchain forever by barrysty1e in order to make sure they could not be spent by anyone from Cryptsy who may
have control of them.

The new, much lower total MOON supply number really needs to updated amongst all the sites so that this can be
put to bed once and for all.

Thank you for the explanation.

I think that the developers/mantainers of MOON should put this information somewhere where anyone approaching this coin can see it.

Consider that for me it is almost 3 weeks I am looking around MOON and gathering information, but I never found this info explained ( it might be there in one of the 70 pages of this bitcointalk)

Seeing the wrong supply number also impacts on the decision someone makes in investing or not in MOON.

I am sure you all know this already, but I just wanted to point it out from a newbie point of view.

Through progression of the coin itself and by further interest and investment in the community and public at large.

not a bad point actually, there have been quite a few questions about this of late.
i'll ask that some info be put up regarding it.

when the issue was originally pointed out to me, in regards to preventing spends from the 4 known stolen cryptsy addresses, i couldnt find much in the way of freezing/halting spends anywhere.

so i just wrote my own method and its done well (https://github.com/mooncoindev/mooncoin/blob/master/src/main.cpp#L942-L1073).
there have been unsuccessful attempts to spend the funds over time through some fairly devious means, but now we're entirely across from the legacy client to the new 0.10 platform; it seems to have eased off.

Hi,guys.
There's one thing I always have trouble when I use the new mooncoin windows qt wallet. I  changed my wallet.dat file. Now when I click "Request payment" or send mooncoins,It always display dialog box microsoft visual c++ runtime library, this application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.please contact the aplication's support team for more information.
Why? There were no problems i used old mooncoin wallet in 2014.

I was about to say the same, and so I second your call to get this posted somewhere easily visible.  It doesn't need to be front and center, but a small note near the end of the OP, or a link to a page on the website should be enough.  Maybe create a "coin history" section...

Can I confirm you're using the latest version from https://github.com/mooncoindev/mooncoin/releases/download/0.10.5-tokenblock/Mooncoin-qt.zip?

When you say changed; you mean swapping in your old wallet file from the old client?
The two should be compatible.

Let me know,
