There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

Why do you have to buy through this? Don't you have local exchanges? I'm assuming that if you do, the reason is you're trying to avoid the fees. Are they that huge?

Try using the local exchangers the fees are not that big. It's hard to find people who will sell bitcoin since they are afraid of scammers. And possibly you will also can be a victim of scammers. So to avoid this things use your local exchangers since it is much easy and safer that way.

paypal transactions are reversible thus making the escrow service useless. You better try virwox cos this is the safest way i know to buy btc using paypal and as far as i know paypal may ban your account if you are using their service to buy bitcoins

Its very dangerous because you dont know the person you are going to buy btc. I suggest you to use escrow. So its more safe for both of you. We have localbitcoin. You should go there to buy btc. You dont need to look for someone and ofcourse this is the safest way to buy btc. You are going to use Paypal and i think it will be harder for you to find someone to trade your Paypal funds to btc because its reversible.

My advice is to never use paypal for the purchase of Bitcoins. In Localbitcoins, earlier there were a few sellers who accepted payments using Paypal. I am not sure whether they are still active there.

There are still many sellers who accept PayPal on Localbitcoins. Their fees aren't that bad either.

VirWox accepts credit cards as well. But the catch is that the exchange rates are very volatile and you can't directly purchase Bitcoins using US Dollars. First, you need to purchase Linden Dollars (L$) using USD, and then using these Linden Dollars, you can purchase Bitcoins. The markup involved can be quite steep, often measuring more than 10% of the Bitcoin value.

this post should be on Marketplace and not here in this Economics board, if you post this on that Marketplace you can easily find the person that match at your offer, there are lot of traders there, be careful in trading and just warning about paypal chargeback it was hard to fight, for additional information for you that if you can put your paypal funds in a bank try to use coins.ph Bitcoin wallet Smiley Tried and tested

yes i also think that local exchange will the best idea. actually most of the people have no paypal account therefore most of them are using bitcoin and that is the reason that we have some good experience in bitcoin.

Yes, there Bitcoin sellers for paypal (I am one of them) - and they all charge a high Premium fee.

Take a look at my ads : https://localbitcoins.com/accounts/profile/BM-2cTKNgPTRcA2p27ZpC7gGhSwPLt/

I just wanted to chime in & note that I have just read hundreds of reviews accusing Virwox of scamming them. I find it ridiculous that you can be a senior member & not be aware of this & actually steer someone away from buying btc on this site & direct them to a known scam site. lol Not to mention you say its the "safest way"..incredible.

On the contrary, Virwox IS safe.
The only bad Virwox reviews come from a website called Bittrust. If you'd actually read some of these reviews (as you claim you did) you'd realize that the people there are all angry either because of the high fees or because they got refunded and their account closed.
Upon registration, Virwox gives you a generated password which you must change (and they state that very clearly), if you don't change that password then your account will be closed after a certain time period, it's not their fault if people don't pay attention.
So don't throw accusations without researching the validity of what you read. He also said it's the safest way "he knows", which makes his statement opinionated.
