This has nothing to do with it.... any hash can have precomputed rainbow tables.

You're right, any hash can have precomputed rainbow tables - which is why I also said "any unsalted hash".

My apologies.  I was in a hurry and have noticed lately that people see MD5 and just parrot that MD5 is bad because XYZ and not really understand it.

Had I actually read what you wrote then it wouldn't have been a problem.

there were some pretty much intense dumps. The timing was about right -- but the reaction of the market was negligible.

Lets see what happens this weekend....  Wink

The fact that:

OP has yet to reveal the secret message
OP has posted bearish sentiments
Price has continued to go up

means that OP is an idiot.

... It's funny how a group of 4 people with less than $10 mil to spare can throw the Bitcoin ecosystem around like a ragdoll Smiley ...

The fact that:

OP has yet to reveal the secret message
OP has posted bearish sentiments
Price has continued to go up

means that OP is an idiot.

I'm thinking maybe 4 people with less than $10 mil to spare are now 4 people with much less than $10 mil and they are going spare.

At this point, pointing and laughing at the troll, who turned out not to be a troll, but a moron. Big difference Smiley

I see what you mean: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=178077.msg1855054#msg1855054

He registered on May 2012, so he probably bought below $10.
It seems he sold close to the $50 bottom, bragging he bought a Lamborghini Gallardo with the cash.
He was so proud he thought he had played the market... Now he is silent since 4 days.

Methinks: pity for the other one-and-half Gallardo's worth he missed on Roll Eyes

i fucking love it when already fiat rich people lose money!

totally made a long hard work day better. thank you, yokosan, for posting this.

if you wanted to go to college to pursue a career that involved seperating rich people from their money, what lines of work would you consider? thought about trying to become a lawyer but i suck at the socratic learning method.

Not to be a douche, but pretty much some computer science related or finance related field. At the present day people in these fields hold a lot of power. While being a laywer might make you cause some small disruptions in the short term but IMO the other fields have the power to simply be more disruptive.

honestly i feel like a douche for writing this now.but thank you for the pleasant response. i dont begrudge anybody their honest success. mine has just been hard won. i actually am considering trying to pursue an education in computer science though. i can see how that might apply in unthought of ways.  hell bitcoin itself is an example, not that i could ever achieve anything that impressive.

If you make your way through learning computer science (or simply learning programming for real), you'll gain a skill set which is indeed very useful in our present highly complex environment.

But this skill set isn't necessarily what you need to "separate rich people from their money". It's rather the opposite of what you need.
Learning computer science teaches you a structured way of thinking. But to outsmart other smart people, you'll need to learn how to manipulate. Thus you need a deep and intuitive understanding of the "human factor", you need both empathy and an affinity for the mixed-up and confused states of our existence, without the urge to get matters sanitised and cleaned up first -- and this is exactly a weak spot of many computer science cracks.
