I would choose NEO despite the fact it is not totally POS coin: it has dBFT (Delegated Byzantine Fault Tolerance) mechanism. It allows you to get free GAS value if you hold NEO coins on your wallet (NEON wallet for example).

This isn't true.  There are many that are extremely successful above 20% a year.  Many high priced hyped coins with "reasonable" rates have fallen in fallen.  The high volatility of low price higher staking (20 to 200%) coins with good wins out.

I wasn't talking about price fluctuations. I was referring to the PoS coins that by design offer very high returns only from staking.

If everybody generates 400% / year what do you think will happen? Crazy inflation, everyone dumps, price plummets, coins dies....

I have to agree, 400% should be stated not as a benefit but as a cost.   This is the tax by the network on the holders for operation and transaction confirmation.   Just because the money goes back to holders initially, overall the network is running at a super high cost.  

Try to compare it to Bitcoin mining fees, who is glad when they rise.   Nobody because we have to pay it to someone else, here the cost to stake is the same kind of cost to the network continuation even if you are also receiving the mining fee equivalent that Bitcoin gives only to those with hardware.

So in short, its not sustainable.  If you make your POS holding more diverse then consider networks which I know have been low cost staking ince 2014, a couple of those would be BLK and ENRG
I hold both of those and they have active developers, the stake return is only like 5% but that is not bad and even this is an elevated amount not true cost because exchanges do not take part in POS boosting returns for all others.    Let me know if you need further details or a link to those ANN threads but they are 4 years strong now

They weren't losers when they went up 500% to 5000%.  They are still holding value, up and down, most wise people known when to sell.  Not everyone has $3000 to diversify in staking coins, no need to worry about saying that.   How much do you need to buy now in Bitbeans to stake?  Will it even stake for $250?

I agree with you on this as Rain is not a loser as the price has been steady for a while now and it doesn't cost a whole to buy a good amount of Rain and start earning stakes daily or every second day. I also hold and sprout BeanCash and I would say that if someone wants to stake daily they would need minimum 500k beans which would cost a few thousand in BTC. Rain is making a comeback with the new dev team working on developments so it could return to its previous price levels in the coming months.

ETH is constantly kept at a low price due to people systematically selling to pay for the mining costs (fees and electricity). There is demand but a huge offer supplied by a vast number of miners.

In PoS there will be an incentive to keep your coins, not sell them immediate. This will lower inflation, decrease supply, rise demand, therefore rise price!
