This is actually a good news. Due to this market manipulation will no longer occur in the bitcoin market and prices will no longer go wild in an instant. But what is troubling is that PBOC of China will create a third party group empowering the Central Bank of CHina to do the 90% of day to day bitcoin trading. If you ask why is it troubling, it is a big problem since Chinas Central Bank will launch their fiat currency on September. IF the one in charge of releasing a fiat virtual currency is the one in-charge in bitcoin trading then we can expect a price meltdown on September.

this is only two features that they no longer will provide, it is not the end of the world. other exchanges don't have them and nothing is wrong.
besides i believe that they may finally start reporting some real volumes that are more logical instead of these ridiculous numbers they are currently reporting.

It means the Chinese are trying to hold back bitcoin speculation. I can think of a lot of reasons why they'd want to do that - first of which is so they can figure out a way to charge taxes off the action!

I just posted a link to an article about a Chinese guy who's been high-frequency trading bitcoin 24 hours a day. For him and his firm, it's easy because there's a decent difference in the price of bitcoin across different exchanges, so they monitor the different exchanges and when they see a discrepancy in the price they buy low on one exchange and then immediately sell for higher on another exchange. Small gains but in this ploy it's the volume of the transactions that add up to the big money.

Anyway, the news of China trying to slow the action down isn't that crazy...it's what big government does.

I think it is great news, because if not for the action of PBOC, there is probability that  Bitcoin price will be over $1500 by now, we need right fundamentals to support the price not manipulated figures which is not sustainable on the long run. It means that the level of leverage will be reasonable and not that 1 to 100 ratio and will prevent gambling with the price

The fluctuations in bitcoin pricing since 2014 is alarming and the only way to correct is by control margin trading and speculation's traders. For Government authorities to  have interest on bitcoin there have to be some stability in it pricing. For bitcoiner the decision of bitcc and okcoin after meeting with pboc is a good development as this will bring confidence to investors.

If means china's government is a repressive state which actively prevents innovation and progress in the country.

China is an unbalanced nation ripe with corruption, censorship and oppression.

Anything that hints at a better way of doing things the way bitcoin could be interpreted as being a superior currency than that regulated by the state.

Is abolished.

The same way that the great censorship firewall of china attempts to keep chinese isolated from legitimate sources of information and news in order to ease the adoption of state sanctioned propaganda.

It simply means that chinese exchanges don't want to expose themselves in the bitcoin price volatility. They want to save themselves by not allowing users to take loan from them to play in bitcoin.

But that is actually a good news. Due to the high volume chinese traders and because of these margin trading, we have seen a lot of fake volume in bitcoin which drastically moved the price of bitcoin upwards and downwards. I think the fair game will be on from now.

any news these days, specially news from China only means what we say it means. or better said what whales and those who spread the news want it to say. if they want it to be an FUD it becomes FUD and they say bitcoin will crash and a great deal of people believe and dump.
and if they say it is great and bitcoin will go to the moon, again a great deal of people (less because the other way is harder) will believe and start buying.

in the end it is just news and price of bitcoin is still rising as it was in the past 8 years Cheesy

Price drops and miners quit mining that causes difficulty to decrease and the golden opportunity in sight for us small miners to dig deeper and take as much advantage like plugging our toasters after buying as many s7 or s9 because what ever happens it doesn't make bitcoin less valuable.

Something I should say here, know they can never touch the trunk only cut off a few branches, bitcoin has it's roots penetrated hard metal and stone that not even the red storm of planet Jupiter can unsettle the bitcoin's tree.

in my opinion this news, and mainly the news about Chinese government taking a closer look on the Chinese bitcoin exchange services means they will stop reporting fake volumes, they may even have harder time to do fake pumps or fake dumps to create panic.

and if these things happen (the volume has already dropped) it means we can see a more realistic price and it means rising consistently without flash rise and flash crash.

I think it will reduce the price volatility
BTW, OKCoin has limited its margin trading offering to 3x margin for bitcoin and 20x margin for bitcoin futures on its international version, only for non-Chinese residents.

May be this will just reduce trading volume in chinese trading platform and also to some extent price manipulation.
When they will add some fee in trading, All those fake buy/sell order may also get limited.

Chinese trading exchange made path for a big decline in the price of bitcoin a week back. Once again Chinese trading platforms have been gaining power with high speed trading. Same along that price too have started to increase after a short time stability.
