Well they even went and deleted the post I made in their English-language support thread encouraging them to finish resolving these account-recovery tickets.

Seems it is more important to ignore your ticket than to simply deal with it properly and restore their trust rating here.

Which is still not a good sign.

WARNING!!! Check your forum URLs carefully and avoid links to phishing sites like 'thebitcointalk' 'bitcointalk.to' and 'BitcointaLLk'

I can't reach their legal department/correspondent. I'm trying to settle this through my lawyer, but there's no such thing as a legal representative of BTC-e.

Hey,

It seems like @btc-e.com is refusing me access to my own account. I've provided everything they've asked for but it seems like it's never enough. I have everything, from my last transactions to my account creation date. They have locked my account because of their new "policy" (if it's been inactive for a long time, it gets locked).

I even went as far as sending them a picture of me holding my passport with "for BTC-E" written on a paper.

They are asking for a minimum deposit using my older wallet account, which I no longer have access to (the wallet was used in 2012!).

I've been on and off with them for the past 13 months and it's becoming exhausting. So I'm all but convinced this is a poor excuse for scamming me.

Here's one of the dialogues we've had, one of many, over 13 months...

Their registrar is Instra. You can report btc-e.com as scammers at the email abuse@instra.com

It appears btc-e.com is a fronted by CloudFlare. You can report btc-e.com as scammers at https://www.cloudflare.com/abuse/form

The SSL certificate for btc-e.com is issued by GoDaddy. You can report them at https://supportcenter.godaddy.com/AbuseReport/

My account is also suspended (for inactivity!!!) but I will wait a few days before I report to the above.

Same issue as lots of others.  It's been two weeks and I have not heard anything from BTC-E support.  My ticket, ZAK-406-99781, just remains open and they do not respond.

I have sent them everything except my blood type to prove ownership of my account.

I hope something changes and we all get our issues resolved.

I highly doubt it. They are selective scammers, I believe that some people within BTC-e are intentionally neglecting/ignoring cases such as mine and yours in order to force the user to quit trying to retrieve the funds, ultimately giving them an edge to steal the funds.

They are selective scammers, but I wont stop until I have my money back.

I'd like to hear what they have to say about this and other similar incidents.

Unfortunately this is the BTCe risk you take when signing up though.

I had not logged into my account for a long time and i got an auto thing..
it said your password was reset.. email sent (i checked and i got it ok)
But i can't even be bothered.. fuck 'em.

I have no coins on there and and have no plans on putting any on there either.
So it's no loss for for me.

If they are screwing people around then they should be shamed and exposed.
Who reading this section has info on who to contact ?
There has to be a lot of accounts here for them..

I will add your plight to my SIG to see if we can get the ball rolling.

I posted an explanation of why it is impossible any account has reached the inactivity period yet.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1934630.msg19347177#msg19347177

I also think we should use that thread so every one is talking in the same place.

Update: they are now requesting as per their "Terms of Service" for me to register on www.xbtce.com and validate my account there. I have absolutely no ideia as to why they want me to go through the exact same process on a different platform, but I'll just play along.

Where did you find that website address and instruction for you to register there?

Given that you're handing over ID documentation and more, you should make sure it isn't a phishing scam.

It was a response from their official support platform. I also went there to read it myself because I got that mail but could be spoofed, so I manually inserted their official link on the browser, logged in, and the message was there. Due to being "inactive" for over a calendar year, they offered to give me an alternative way to prove my identity on xBTCE.

Here's the source: https://btc-e.com/news/241

How to complete verification:

1. If you already have an account with BTC-e.com (BTC-e.nz).
1.1. Go to https://www.xbtce.com.
1.2. Create an account on https://www.xbtce.com with the same email as on https://btc-e.com and complete the verification process, providing all required documents. Our staff will review your documents and your account will be verified. For more information about the verification process, refer to https://support.xbtce.info/Knowledgebase/Article/View/77/30/3-procedura-verifikacii-ewallet.
1.3. Your btc-e.com account will be verified automatically within 1 day after receiving the verified status on xbtce.com. We will notify you about it via a private message and you will be able to enjoy all the above-mentioned benefits.

Good luck, perhaps this site really is a genuine attempt by BTC-E to address this account recovery problem after all.

If things go well and this matter is properly resolved I'll remove my negative rating for them.

Likewise. I think their inability to respond to an English speaking audience paired with a very disorganized support system led to a poor community feedback. xBTCe proved to be more efficient in what BTC-e was lacking. I hope that their intention is genuine, because they have a lot of cleanup to do.
