Update: xbtce.com support were amazing and very fast in replying (+proper english). But btc-e.com is going in circles again with me, even after I've officially verified, as per their instructions and TOS, my account with their partners. This is ridiculous.

Don't you get it by now ?, your not going to get your money back.

You have been scammed by BTC-E, they are just playing with you until you give up.

Hello guys, I am in a similar situation.

I was able last month to unlock my account after 1+ years of inactivity. I was also able to verify my BTC-e account by verifying my xBTCe account.
Assuming everything was okay, I made a SEPA EUR deposit.

Unfortunately at that time, I didn't notice that all the withdrawals buttons were still disabled. Now when I click any of those, I get the message "Denied for your account. Contact support."

Of course I have contacted support several time, and they always reply with the same text: "Please verify your account ...". I can confirm that my account is verified, by checking the status in my personal panel.

I work in a similar industry (gambling) and this behavior is totally inexplicable. They trade millions of $ per day. Why bother scamming users for a bunch of money?

I will keep you posted on any updates. In the meanwhile, if you have any suggestions, please share your thoughts. Thank You.

Hi there,

I'm in a similar situation, trying to unlock my btc-e account after a few years of inactivity. I bought a few litecoins and then left them on the exchange. After a frustrating and slow email exchange with BTC-e, they now no longer reply to my emails. I've no idea where to go with this. I've no idea why they'd lock my account like this when all I've done is not use their exchange for a while. They asked me to send them high res scans of my passport, but not only does that sound shady (I don't think I ever sent them copies of my passport to verify against in the first place??) but I've seen on other threads that this doesn't actually get you anywhere anyway.

I'm still using the same email address, I just don't understand their behaviour, is this just a case of me being scammed? Its only a small amount of coins, but the principle is bothering me. If a major exchange is doing this, then it really makes me think twice about the future of crypto currency.

Any advice or details of similar situations would be great, thank you in advance for your help!

They take ages to reply, and sometimes they just ignore them completely.

Have you considered taking a legal advice? It won't be easy, as (afaik) it's not clear where their principal place of business is located and whether the reported owners are real people. But at very least, you could get the authorities to block their website in your country, that's better than nothing. You should give them a clear deadline to get it sorted. Frankly, it doesn't look like they're willing to resolve it.

Fun fact is, they gave me an alternative way of verifying my account through xbtce.com, which I did (it became verified).

Since yesterday they reversed their decision and requested more "documentation", as per BTC-e request.

And once again I submitted new documents.

They (xBTCE) are requesting the same exact documents every time, just so they can reject them after submission. They even had me notarize my passport, utility bill and confirmation of income from employer.

They're just as bad as BTC-e, if not the same entity.

I did not read all the post on this thread but all i could say is that a similar incident happen to me. I lost around $2300. Eventually i gave up. It seemed like i had to go in person to the owner of BTC E and show them my face and beg to there feet however, giving up was a mistake...

Not sure if you recieved your account back or not but keep on hassling them, show them every piece of evidence, get references etc... eventually you will get your account back and your funds. I hate to see stuff like this happen. I stopped using BTC-E but i know i could of gotten my account back but impossible for me now (unless i dig through god knows how much history but its a 98% chance of me not getting that back) .

It pains me to say but, even if it takes you half a year or more ... keep on contacting them, use law (if they really care) .

I hope you do get your funds and account back. If there is any way i can help , or find something that could help you... i will PM YOU.

peace!

What is the latest with this?

They have requested me to send all documents notarized by mail (physical copies) to some random address in Malaysia.

That was a request from BTC-e to xBTCe. So basically they're the same shit with a different smell.

But I'll send the physical copies.

Seems like a whole long story to me... maybe a way for them to getting out of giving you your coins.

Cryptsy did this to me and blocked my access to my account long before they closed their website.

Update: After sending my notarized documents to a physical address, they have verified my account on xBTCe.

Now I'm waiting for BTC-e. They'll circle-jerk again I'm sure tho...

Steven,

I am in the same boat. BTC-e not responding to my support tickets. Like the others I have read so far it seems they been doing this a lot to people. My email was hacked and locked out by MS and needed to use a new email. They requested me to get verified with xbtce. I after being verified,I have been ignored and my support tickets have been closed out without any response. I have quite a bit on the exchange and stressed needless to say. Please keep me update on your situation and if anyone on here can assist me I willing to help with legal fees or what ever is needed to gain access of my account.

Support tickets are now label PRIVATE and all new support tickets are closed out without responses. Even this main support tickets gets closed out. Not even a response which is so unprofessional and stressful.

It was your responsibility to secure your email address. Were you using 2FA? Probably not. Why blame the exchange for your mistakes?

Do you have any idea what would happen If it was so easy to have access to an account just by providing docs? btc-e probably don't have any legal ways to confirm that submitted docs and see if they are fake or real because that would expose their real identity. That's why they probably use their own judgement and that might take time, maybe even forever...

Anyway It is not that I defend btc-e or something, I lost faith in any exchange out there. I simply point out that you were (probably) careless about your security and you are simply suffering because of your past mistakes.

Sending your documents to them is very risky, it may be okay with one or two documents, but the more documents you send them, the easier it is to impersonate you online. I mean someone with access to all that info about you can create online profiles using your documents, and they can screw you proper.

I think it will be  it be better visiting their offices, or maybe I am wrong. The amount involved, if recovered, should be enough for a plane ticket and accommodation for a couple of days, instead of this never ending back and forth between both parties.

I had 2FA enabled, I provided them with the verification they asked for. IP address, log in, last 3 transactions, and so on. The hackers requested the 2FA to be removed which I was on line when it happen (I was logged in) and booted off line. I contacted BTCe right then and my account was locked, They change the password and too contol of the email, I had to regain access. The password to account was not hacked, just my email was. And yes I had the 2FA enabled. I am not blaming the exchange AND I provided them the correct answers to their questions such as IP address and what not. I needed to change my email address, so yes with that said they know I am the owner and not helping. Hacking is not careless it means hacked.

I am not talking about the 2FA on your btc-e account. I talk about your email. Have you got 2FA on your email?

Because If you say "yes" you simply lie. Nobody can hack a 2FA enabled email address unless they trick the owner to remove it by his own will. (I read it somewhere that there is an ongoing fraud by using google voice and trick the owner into typing a code to remove his email's 2FA) If that was your case, that's not a hack, that's being dumb.
