Plenty of people either wanting to sell or buy?

Edit: stupid suggestion, that would fast turn into a mess trading on word of mouth only, sorry!!

Yup, @OP try out #bitcoin-otc on irc and trade people who are deemed trustworthy.

The only issue with otc is the massive mark up generally.
