Everyone, do not panic!! We all knew this would happen, it's not a surprise. So, relax, keep mining and watch what happens. MtGox is currently down and under a massive Ddos attack. Check out their twitter page for updates twitter.com/MtGox . There is a massive amount of people who have been getting into bitcoin lately (20,000 + per day) This would be tough for any website server to handle. Most websites can't even handle a single link from Drudge Report, bitcoin has had many lately. On top of that massive Ddos attacks are occuring, this is the powers that be trying to destroy it. They do not want ibitcoin involved with their money scheme. DO NOT GIVE UP ON IT!!!!

The grue lurks in the darkest places of the earth. Its favorite diet is adventurers, but its insatiable appetite is tempered by its fear of light. No grue has ever been seen by the light of day, and few have survived its fearsome jaws to tell the tale.

HAHA. YES, it will crash a bit, but it's going to recover if the original base doesn't give up on it. Central banks do not like bitcoin!! Well, we don't like central banks!!

DECENTRALIZED EXCHANGE!

...and none of this would have happened.

Mt. Gox will never be fixed.  It's a fundamental flaw in architecture.

We need a decentralized exchange!

Isn't MtGox's official story was that the DDOS attacks are being perpetrated by traders trying to game the system by selling, then driving the price down due to the panic created as a result of the attacks, then buying again at an artificially low price before the currency recovers.  Are you guys really suggesting that the world's reserve banks are trying to kill bitcoin?

I think that scenario is a perfect example of why BTC needs a more widely dispersed infrastructure without depending so heavily on a single exchange.

I'm simply saying things like this happen. I'm going to make a comparison, you may not agree but here it is.

1. When Libya was attacked and Gadaffi was taken out of power, did you know there was a new currency based on gold called the African dinar he was trying to implement throughout Africa? This currency was going to be the exchange currency for all goods, services and resources in Africa. What happened? He was murdered and a massive pile of gold in Libya dissapeared (44 + tons)

2. Abraham Lincoln- Was trying to repeal the federal reserve act (assasinated)

3. J.F.K- Tried to repeal the federal reserve act (assasinated)

4. Before 9/11 afghanistan and iraq had no central bank, "now they do."

5. The only countries left in the world without central banks are, you guessed it (Iran and North Korea)

"they go after everything that's not centralized"  (and, in no way am i saying the countries listed above are good, I'm just showing the correlation)
