I am using bitcoin.de, it seems secure to me and I have not had any problems with it.

Transactions must be included in a block to be properly completed. When you send a transaction, it is broadcast to miners. Miners can then optionally include it in their next blocks. Miners will be more inclined to include your transaction if it has a higher transaction fee.

Gox is most secure.

Yeah, if you don't count that time they leaked their password data then crashed the market as someone sold everything in some early adopter's account.

And if you don't count them keeping your money secure from it's legal owner with their withdrawal limits.

And if you don't count them being a Japanese company and impossible to sue from the rest of the world if they rob you.
