Never? In a two years? In a year? In a month?

Discuss. My bet is that we will have 300$ in six months.

I would be really surprised if we didn't pass ATH by the end of this year. But again, bitcoin price does one thing well - surprises everybody Smiley

But ATH is not as interesting as the lows it could get to. This is much more important right now, with lots of money waiting to buy back in. Judging by history, bitcoin never retracts below the previous ATH, so 32 or so should hold, but we'll see.

Maybe in a few months, or maybe several months.  If it happens within a few weeks we wont stay there long before swinging back down.

I hold everything expect little profitable day trading and I am ready to buy like a mad man if price gets into single digits. That wont happen tough.

You're in the right frame, but 180 degrees off. In about 9 months. The period between bubbles (actually, the period between forced crashes) halves.

I am willing to consider this possibility, however what happens when the bubbles get too close? A monumental crash like no other?

I agree! nothing really changed. More people are aware of bitcoin, many (if not most) of the newbies are not traders and bought
some BTC  for a long term investment. They don't have  accounts in any of the exchanges!
Amazing! if it goes up everyone is so sure it's a new world comming, if it goes down then "it will take years to recover at best".
What about all the Media, VC & investments, sites & individuals starting to accept bitcoins, etc. Everything is gone in just 2 days???
Nothing happened!

Yep because everyone will be buying like mad... so unlikely... We should start to buy aggressively below $20

Exactly. Fundamentals haven't changed. Inherent properties are still far superior to government-controlled fiat. Irrational exuberance and irrational pessimism are both just as damaging to bitcoin - and of course, irrational. Let us not forget why we're doing this in the first place. (Hint: Making lots of money is only a pleasant side effect.)

There seems to be too much neutral or even positive news about Bitcoins in the mainstream currently. I don't think the ATH is too far away, perhaps it will be here even in a month's time.

That gives Gox about a month to upgrade.
