The reason why people do not get Bitcoin.

No need for such more advertising, promoting, raising awareness etc. because the one who will dictate if a person will involved in bitcoin is themselves. No matter how simply, constructive or properly we discussed bitcoin to them if they are not interested then that's it.

Like in my case, no one introduced bitcoin to me but Im really interested to know what is this so I seek information on the web and now gained some decent knowledge about this cryptocurrency. Same with some of my friends where I only told them the basics and now gained other knowledge because they are really interested.

Honestly with the recent price surge to above $1,000 a week ago, I told some of the people who were I introduced bitcoin back when Im starting (the price around that time is playing at $220-$250) that bitcoin already reached a high price to considered (actually I did the same when the price breached $500). Thinking they will be more interested now but instead they just respond with "awesome, wow really, teach me again etc" but now not doing anything to get involved without my assistance.

Raising the volume isn't going to get you very far, because you'd be doing it to a population who is mostly deaf. You need to treat deafness, using this "comparison"...

Speaking more clearly, people are out there with blinders and can only look to fiat and disregard cryptocurrencies. It's "tradition", it's something that's passed on from father to son ("put your money in the bank"). We need to shift this paradigm, and this isn't simply "turning up the volume". We need to show people that not dancing, regardless of volume or deafness, isn't the way to go. Now the million dollar question is how to do this beyond what's already being done to promote Bitcoin...

many of the bitcoin users today aren't so eager to buy bitcoin apparently, so many you see around here who are just dancing! to the song without moving.
we need some adoption and some more people to come in and invest money and stop panicking so that maybe some day we can see a lot more friction when whales dump.

1. Volume on exchanges will increase in future
2. Volume of merchants is slowing increasing and many big merchants may start accepting bitcoin in near future.
3. Bitcoin ATM's are slowly spreading from European countries to asia and africa.
4. Social media and news channel is covering bitcoin everytime when bitcoin price get heavy pump or dump.

It will require really long time for people to understand & be used to new things and bitcoin is one that is completely new way to make financial transaction for most of the people so we may have to wait few more years to see bitcoin being accepted by small local store/tea shop in remote area of africa/asia.

what we need is that the current people holding bitcoin start to believe for real in bitcoin not just pretend and then at the first sight of despair dump it all on the exchanges.

and the worst part of them dumping bitcoin at times like this is that they are selling their coins to the open orders that whales have placed there for them.

People sell their coins because they need money and they have been waiting for this time from quite a long time and now when they got the chance they are doing it or they have already done it, they don't care where the price goes but they just care for the profit they are getting by doing this.

Definitely love it, increase the volume.
Not an easy task to get done and we need years to do that.
Exchanges volume, merchants and bitcoin atm are in progress and we have community to make it.
I've been planned to open up a merchant that accept bitcoin to help increase the music volume.
But, people believe what they want to and some consider it's a risky way to buy a volatile internet currency.
We need to deal with it, because manipulation is real.

You are seeing the goal with this thread. We should stop fighting over trivial stuff like BIG blocks and small blocks and how mining are being

centralized in China and focus on more important things, like increasing the VOLUME. If EVERYONE goes out and only get ONE person to

adopt this technology, then we DOUBLE the size of our network. If those people do the same, we triple the size...... and in this way, we grow

Maybe they can hear the music, they just don't like the song, or their music is good enough for them for now... 

We don't need to force anyone to dance our music, everyone is free to choose what music to listen, what currency to use, what we can do is to show all the people the crypto-currencies, I believe many people don't know it yet. If you are able to do a good advertise about it I'm sure you will bring more people to dance your music.

For those of us who hear the music, just like the people back then who invested into the internet they heard the music, others regreted that they didn't dance to it...

I agree that somehow most of the people already heard what bitcoin really is especially in a country where bitcoin is really open and learn some benefits and advantages they can get if they use this crypto but still having a hard time to decide to themselves if it's really interesting to use this crypto or not. I somehow feel some of the posters here about their sentimentation because I personally have some people who I introduced bitcoin but still they aren't like to use it even you told them the benefits of it.

But I noticed that some of them came back to me and trying to get to know more about bitcoin, that is the time when they really need some extra opportunity to make money online or in other words, they need an extra money. Most of the people that I have been introduced to bitcoin have a real life job and decent salary to consider to support their living. But since cost of living is increasingly without a prior noticed in our life, they feel that the percentage of their decent salary must be put on savings so that it can be used in the future. Bitcoin is a great opportunity for a financial goals so few of them proceed in the idea of learning bitcoin.

That pretty much sum it up! I`m not the only one here whos friends doesn`t understand bitcoin. I`m earning for almost a year, earning and gambling, at least I`m trying something and I had success in all this. Even I tried to introduce bitcoin to some of my friends ( without work, or with very low paycheck ) they wasn`t interested enough to get more involved.
Yes we are dancing, and this dance is bringing something to all of us here.

Well, it's a bit embarrassing when you say it like that, but TBH the progress of the adoption of bitcoin is in a perfect phase
so people can comprehend what bitcoin is and can learn more while it still growing until we reach the mainstream.

The remote control to increase the volume is in the hands of big bitcoin exchanges and early bitcoin adopters.
Sometimes they increase the volume (which is really good) and many portals, news, magazines have written about bitcoin because of the recent price (entering January at $1k) which I think brought many (potential) investors in the crypto world.

Very nice post OP ! What a refreshment to what is normally posted I never expected that. Most posters are all serious but you have really made some good points in a fun and unique way .People have natural fear of what is new because the comfortable with what they already know and getting use to something new is hard for some. They also afraid to lose their money but then again you dont need to ise all your money. I dont k ow maybe the ignorant and want to work theorwnole lives who knows.

I think that the reason why people do not get bitcoin is that the technology of bitcoin and Blockchain seems hard for understanding, cause of it's totally different from traditional paper money model. To people get bitcoin we must to explain bitcoin more as money, not as technology. And money provokes much more interest than technology.
