I deposited btc last night [which were finally in my account when I woke up.] and went to withdraw some profit and got hit with this after pressing the withdraw button...

Your account is currently pending review, please visit https://mtgox.com/forms/verification

I thought verification was only needed to withdraw USD???

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

If you are using TOR thats why. Also if the amount is greater than 100 BTC? It can possibly also be due to the DDos yesterday, that they are afraid of anybody trying to steel costumer funds.

Just get the account verified.

Why should I be required to if I don't want to withdraw USD?

I had this problem when withdrawing bitcoins too, and after waiting a long time for getting verified they denied it for whatever reason they made up.
