So lets say I've created a Bitcoin address but I want to manage it within Coinbase so I can avail myself of their features, including the Vault feature. Is this possible?

I think coinbase allows you to add private keys. If they do then its not a problem and a very easy process. Let me have a look.

I just checked and they do not, you need to transfer your funds to the coinbase address.

No coinbase don't have this feature, they are just like centralized payment processor and not actually hold your bitcoin in just one address like in blockchain.info web wallet.

Try blockchain.info they have awesome mobile app and they have feature to import/export private key, sign/verify messages, add watch only address (cold wallet address) etc which is more than enough for a bitcoin web wallet.
