If you pay 400$ (and buy the pandaminer directly on the panda miner site) you get the OS and the ROM, each rig will cost you only 30$ afterwords. Thats totally fine I would say. i Agree to buy the pandaminer with the OS and ROM as one package its expensive but as long as you buy the panda miner by urself its totally okay.

So the rom mod is a one time purchase, after that you pay only for the licence per pandaminer to run the OS ?

Yes I would think so  Smiley

Ok so basically you can buy 2 images, 1x with only the OS (free) , 1x with the OS + bios mod (free + 400$), and after that you only have to pay for the OS licence (30$ ish) per pandaminer you use the OS image on. That make more sense Smiley

Would be something if i would charge 400 for every pandaminer Cheesy

That wouldn't be very fair now would it? Smiley

Yes of course, that's how i understood it, but at least that made it clear for everyone, seems there was some confusion about it Smiley, it is also the reason it's aimed @ good sized farm let's say 10-20 panda so that it doesn't cost you too much per panda for the bios mod Smiley it all make sense  Wink

thats not a bad deal, assuming you are buying at least 3 pandas to spread the cost

Does the rig support solo mining? If solo mining is possible, does it include a getwork-stratum proxy (stratum on miner side, get-work on node side)?

I have 4 pandas and got this ROM and Linux off of Eliovp.  If i had one word to describe the whole setup it's: Badass!

Works like a champ, easy to setup and efficient as hell.  I am considering more based on what I am seeing right now.  If you are thinking getting it, get it.  It's expensive but in my humble option, it's for sure worth it.

yeah if you have enough miners it will save you money.

my stock xmr is 5950 at 990 watts

Eliovp  xmr is 6400 at 830 watts

so  in a month 120 kwatts total of 12 dollars at 10 cents  a kwatt

and in a month it earns about 1.86 extra XMR about 22.20

so 1 panda = 34 a month more profit

Basically  3  pandas would be 100 a month  a fairly fast payback.  for the price.

Yeah it's well worth it IMO.  Stable as fook and you can globally manage it.

yeah what I am doing now is simpleminer as I have only one pandaminer.
I am also selling off the other rigs I will end up with three to five pandaminers and then pick up this os/rom for the three of four rigs.

with the new Eliovp ROM with all that wattage savings.... can I assume a 1300w EVGA would be enough to to stretch the Panda legs?

Which makes his rom pretty valuable for bigger players.

@ Eliovp   I am playing with simpleminer and learning how to use it.

Your os is similar correct?

If I image to a usb will the pandaminer boot from a usb stick or do I need to image to a msata?

You can image it on a usb stick as well, but i would prefer not to.

It's just simply better to not run an OS on a usb stick becuase of the constant read/write..
If you have a very good and fast usbstick, yeah, that might be ok as well.

I have tried ethOS, SMos on USB stick and you really need USB3 type for best results.

4GB RAM is more than enough... so take that few dollars saved on RAM and spend it on a nice small 32/64gb mSATA........ after all its a full fledge operating system.

I had 1 32gb usb3 stick pretty fast.  But I do have msatas I will image them shortly.

I will end up with 3 msatas :

 1 with stock windows 10
 1 with simpleminer  os
 1 with Eliovp  os

Mind you I have not done much with  linux .  So here is a new chance to learn.

Some updates:

- Added the ability to add a fixed IP or change back to dhcp.
- Added custom flags for configs, you can know specifiy intensity, worksize, threads, etc..
- Added grouping! If you have multiple rigs you can put those in a group, for example: Rigs 1 - 10 -> group1 -> pool A -> wallet A.
- A bunch of other cleanups :p

Hi Eliovp,

2 suggestions/inquiries/observations:

1. Grouping Rigs by IP range.
Can I use 192.168.x.x - 192.168.x.x, 192.168.x.x to group rigs by range and another IP, separated by comma?
If cannot, then can I change the rig's IP address permanently via the portal?

2. Some miners support failover pool like sgminer-gm on the same command line... how do to do this with your current GUI?
For Claymore miners... usually failover pools will require epools.txt, how to do this?

Your OS if designed for GPU farms, failover pool is mandatory because mining needs to be 24x7 with maximum hashing power without unnecessary downtime.

Anyways, looking good this OS, very clever design.

Thanks!
