From Mt Gox Support Website:

Quote
If you have or want to generate a Mt.Gox redeemable code, you can do it here: https://mtgox.com/trade/funding-options

However, when I go to my account:

Trade -> Funding Options -> Withdraw Funds ->

The "USD via Mt. Gox Code" option is Missing:

However, in "Add Funds", you are still able to deposit a "redeem Mt.Gox Code"?

The block chain is the main innovation of Bitcoin. It is the first distributed timestamping system.

Yep. Gox sent out emails to people who used the system a few days before they cut service, but I don't recall any general announcement.

Generation of USD and CAD redeemable codes will not be possible due to legal issues"

Mt.Gox is getting ridiculous. I never received an email from them about this.

How can they remove a vital feature of their service and not disclose it to their clients?

First they implement a mandatory requirement of your personal information for using Dwolla and now this.
This is exactly what happens when near-monopolies start getting greedy.
