Hi All

I have a 13.5Th S9 which is only a few months old and has been running fine in a ventilated garage with chip temps in the low/mid 70's.

Last night it dropped off the pool and when i logged in all chips temps were crazily high into the 130's C !!!!

I tried ALL of Bitmains FW, i also tried each card on its own and managed to get the middle card running @ fixed Frequency of 550Mhz, but the chip temps are still VERY HIGH !!

I think that Fan 6 is the input fan ? visually they look like they are at full speed BUT it not as loud as before and when i place my hand over the input fan there is hardly any suction/noise difference when compared to a normal running S9.

Can anyone confirm what fan is Fan 6 ? Also i my next step to try a known working fan from another miner ?

Also would posting the 'log' be of any use ?

Thanks guys.

Why on earth fiddle with the firmware?Huh
Yes the fan is dead.

Because i have had other S9's go 'loopy' giving stupid reading etc and reflashing firmware has worked/solved the problem. It was also the easiest option to try first, it's officail Bitmain FW si what's the problem 'fiddling' with it ?

Does anyone know what FAN 6 is ? Input or Output ?

Thanks

The problem is that perhaps up to recently, there has been little to no reason to ever change firmware. I've ran total of 78 Ants from the s1 up to s9 batch25 and never had reason to change it.

BM follows no rhyme or reason in the fan connection numbers. Numbering and what is what varies from batch to batch. That said - the fan connections are labeled on the board if one looks.

The higher-numbered fan socket is closer to the edge of the board. Same with the ribbon connectors.

Ignore scammers on Skype, Telegram, etc. I will only ever contact you via forum PMs. See profile for fingerprint.

I agree with the boards (3rd is furthest away from the PCIE Control board supply/or as you stated, same thing)...

Anyway i replaced the input fan and it's working ok, still on fixed 550 as board one temp is 101c now !!!

I did clean the boards as well, the usual crap on the input side of heatsinks.

Cheers
