Hi there,

I am new to Bitcoins.. Well, I bought some bitcoins and now I need to move them from Electrum to Blockchain.info or Multibit. All I have is the wallet file from Electrum i.e. electrum.dat as I lost the password for Electrum. I tried to restore it by removing and reinstalling electrum but I couldn't.

I've no idea how to move the wallet to blockchain or multibit. Any help to this is appreciated. Smiley

Cheers!

Bitcoin addresses contain a checksum, so it is very unlikely that mistyping an address will cause you to lose money.

I have not used Electrum but I think any password on a client is for encrypting the wallet file. If you lose it, all of your coins are gone.

But I read that if you have the wallet file, you can get it back. But I am not sure how to move the wallet now. Anyone else?
