Blockchain question(merging amounts)

Searching the net keeps bringing me to what I think is info based on the old blockchain and I need help in one aspect.

How do I merge addresses to combine the amounts from different addresses?

I can not figure out how to do this and pretty sure I am missing something obvious.

Thanks for any help or links to how to achieve this.

You can't merge two addresses.
If you want to merge the funds, you should send the funds of both the addresses you're trying to merge to a single address.

This goes against the best practices in the Bitcoin world. You shouldn't be using addresses more than once.
Assuming you want all your funds at the same place, you would have all your addresses within the same wallet.

Mitchell moved the thread here, it was originally posted on another forum and I don't think we can assume it's the web wallet because of where the post is.
Also, the way OP phrased "based on the old blockchain" makes me think otherwise.

Sorry for being unclear and this is the same person,I just lost the email I created this account with in the first place,it will come back to me eventually.

I am referring to the blockchain.info wallet before it was updated to a newer version.
The older version seems to run differently and I am still learning the way around it.

I created about 10 addresses to use at different sites and then had funds returning back to the wallet.
The problem I now have is trying to get all the funds back into one total and not spread over the 10 addresses.
Without incurring a fee for each merging of the address is I guess what I am trying to figure out.

If I pay a miners fee for each transaction it kind of defeats the purpose of what I am trying to do,which is keep them all individual for tracking purposes. My way of accounting instead of having them all come in to the same address.

I presumed I could sweep the totals all together some how easily and not get dinged a fee each time I move the funds inside the wallet.

So to end off I am attempting to merge the funds not the address,sorry for confusing the question.

You send all of your funds in one transaction to a new address. Having them all in the same address will not reduce fees, you need the funds all in one output. Any time you make a transaction on the Bitcoin network you will need to pay a transaction fee.

You can't just send bitcoin from two different address to one address within one transaction like before using blockchain.info wallet. There is no other way for you than to send bitcoin from all your addresses to one bitcoin address and send that out to wherever you want.

How about make an HD wallet? afaik new blockchain already is using it. It will generate new address for every transactio bu will still be able to receive bitcoins from the old addresses. All funds will be kept in a single wallet but you can choose to use different addresses? Like use 1xxxx wallet and te second 1zzzz to receive but both funds will be stored together?
