Bitcoin addresses contain a checksum, so it is very unlikely that mistyping an address will cause you to lose money.

I use on my phone Mycelium. But I use it only to monitor some wallets, so I can't give 100% steps, only advises on what you should try yourself.
And whatever people tell, you should test it first for yourself anyway.

As you maybe know, in Bitcoin world all that matters is the wallet's private key or keys. HD wallets have a seed based on what they can generate private keys "by a rule", but the principle is the same.
So you need the private keys or the seed to be kept safe. If your phone gets stolen, you'll have to move fast, restore the wallet(s) on another machine from seed/private keys and move out your coins before the thief will do that.

So I said I have Mycellium. This one allows you to backup your data. You can test yourself doing a backup, erase Mycellium data from your phone, uninstall it, then install and restore from backup. See if the wallet address remains unchanged. I really think that they know what they do and you can safely use Mycellium. Make sure that you keep the backup data in a really safe place.

Another option is hardware wallet. If you have a bigger amount of Bitcoin you should consider this option, it's the safest.

I also recommend to you to use electrum mobile wallet you can save your bitcoin there and don't forget to save the 12 words phrase seed
Because 12 word seed phrase is your backup to recover your wallet in other wallet or you can recover it in your desktop electrum wallet..
So if your phone was loss you can be still recover your bitcoin that was save in your mobile phone..
And you can  recover it also in other wallet just save your seed phrase in piece of paper or notepad anywhere in your computer..

I made some tests for you. If you start with the default type of wallet, which is a HD wallet, the backup means that it asks you to write down the seed, which is a list of English words.
You have to write them down in that order somewhere safe. The private keys of the addresses inside your wallet are all generated based on this seed, so you should not need any new backup.

1. The backup saves the seed of the HD wallet. Words to be written onto paper, make sure you don't mistake them. The backup never transfers Bitcoin.
2. No, you should not need new backups after every transfer.

Mycellium creates a HD wallet for you. When you played with it a little (even backup seed, write down public address, unistall Mycellium, restore from seed, verify public address would be interesting and good for the peace of your mind) then you can transfer your Bitcoin from the old wallet you have been using into Mycellium new address. Then you'll be ready to use it for real.

I think for electrum mobile wallet its a fixed words phrase if you create account in mobile you should save  this seed and it will ask  again to manually type the 12 words seed..
It can be change if you create new wallet but your old wallet will be change too if you make a new wallet created using electrum mobile..
