Can someone give me an instructions to get the wallet to sync?  Like instructions so simple that a 10 year old could understand them.

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

Hiya and Welcome to XQN,
 Smiley
Was just heading to bed, just finished up a few hours meeting.
Go here and read the pinned messages in the XQN Support thread.
I hope the instructions there make sense for you.

Here are some nodes if you are having trouble.... (windows)

1. create a txt. file called quotient.txt
2.Copy paste the addnodes
3. change file name to quotient.conf
4. if your having trouble changing the extension you might need to give it permissions

https://www.coinexchange.io/network/peers/XQN   "updated daily"

Put the add nodes in %appdata%  "quotient.conf"  ( no quotes )

Put addnodes in a txt file open %appdata%  click on quotient. drop it in that file and  name it " quotient.conf " (no quotes) start wallet and wait. Might take an hour or two. If it stops just restart it.

OPTIMAL STAKING SETUP SUPPORT REQUEST:

Love the project, and I want to support the network by staking. Can someone please post a clear way to optimize the wallet for staking.

I have browsed the  13 or so pages of the thread and I have only come up with these two variants:

1.) Adjust block size to about 16.2 (since per previous post, the largest blocksize is 16,18)
2.) Display Coin Control (experts only)

I was able to complete step #1, easy of course, but after checking the box for  the Display Coin Control... I am not sure what else to do.

Please advise.  Again, I want to help the network and also stake in the most effective and efficient way possible.

under the + sign up top change your preferred block size around 150. Check the box auto optimize. It will break up the blocks for you.

Great. I  did that
So am I correct in understanding that the coins take 30 days to mature before staking begins?

Hi AceOfPentacles,

I don't have an official answer but I recall mine starting to stake after a couple days.

Thanks XQN community. I got my first stake today. My weight is going up slowly but surely. Hopefully I will be up to full speed soon!

Great to hear!

How did you find the wallet setup process?
Was there anything that you feel could have been documented better?

The wallet setup was fairly standard.
I didn't have good luck with the Cryptochainer blockchain bootstrap, however.(maybe an alternate link for Blockchain and Peers)
The only other additional thing that needed explanation was how to optimize my potential staking, the questions regarding that were answered here in the thread,

Can anyone please let me know how to split my inputs up or step by step how they do it.. I've tried everything sending to myself it splits than rejoins back to my main wallet balance . I also have coin control activated . I do know how to join but not to split.

Thank you in advance.  Really appreciate some help because I have my coins and wanted to stake.

My wallet is also unlocked if that matters.
