There is no safety when someone else holding yours private keys. Wink
It is just a matter of time when will something happen, Polo and Trex still are resistant on hackers and this is amazing.
But future lies on decentralised p2p exchanges, where human error and greed cannot harm you so much, as we had few mentioned cases.

Poloniex did able to catch up and back again to the track. After those problems experienced in this exchange site, they well developed their whole system and works on how to deal properly with their customer.

As you can see, like others mentioned here already, they have a good suppport which one of the major factor why people will consider to use an exchange. Since response is quick, people have an assurance that their concern will able to handled properly without even waiting for so much days like other exchanges is doing. Aside from that, they are establishing a good percentage of volume everyday which traders wants.

I have been trading in for more than a year now, till now i din't face any problem through it. There service is really very fast in the form of withdrawals  and support system. They won't all the coins in the poloniex exchange, only selected coin which has good reputation so it will generate higher volumes.

I dont know guys but poloniex charge like 10k satoshis fee as fixed withdrawal fee. Did you guys had any tx(withdrawal) that took more than a day to be confirmed?

They were very honest, and promised to pay the money back to every people who lost the money. After XMR, ETH huge pump on poloniex, it became the best altcoin exchange.

I think poloniex manage to comeback despite being hacked because they've increased the fees in trading and with withdrawals although their fees in withdrawing in much less than bittrex.
And they have user friendly GUI easy to use, they've gained trust when they have manage to pay users their money back from the hack and does have the most popular alt coins.

Do you want volume, ui and profit ? Take poloniex.
Do you want security ? Take Kraken.

It's simple as this.

Poloniex :
  Pros :
    - Really nice UI
    - Good api
    - Remove shitty coins
    - Insane volume
  Cons :
    - Weak security (they have been hacked multiples times)
    - No bug bounty program
    - They have also been vulnerable to ddos multiple times

Kraken :
   Pros :
     - High security (never hacked, no weakness indicator)
     - Bug bounty program
     - Good volume
   Cons :
     - Bad ui (my opinion)
