i brought a 1500, but were defective...now i have choice to get a 1300 watt or 2x 800 watt.

but i heard 2 psu for one unit is not the best thing.

Neither option is good.  Get a single 1600W unit, it will barely survive 24/7 grinding of an s7 miner.

Bare minimum, yes. While many feel ok running a psu @ 80% or so of max rating, I personally don't.  I prefer running about 60-70% of max rated output for a couple reasons.  First, the total power rating of the psu will include not only the 12V we're interested in, but also the 5V rail which isn't insignificant. Second, you tend to hit the sweet spot in efficiency around 60% of max output. And third, if you're not red-lining the power it tends to run cooler and longer before possible failure.
Just my .02BTC, but I am a German born engineer, so take that for what it's worth...  Wink

running 2 PSU for an antminer is ok as long as you dont mix power across the boards.

So for 2 800w power supplies you want one PSU powering 2 hashing boards and the second powering the third hashboard as well as the controller. If you run them this way just make sure you power up the hash board PSU before you power up the controller or it might not see all 3 boards.

Stop buying industrial miners, running them at home, and then complaining about the noise.

Nope!  How do you power 2 s7 hash boards with only 800W when each board will want >433 watts?? Epic fail here...
