Looking forward to your review. After looking these pictures, I'm just wondering how to measure core voltage...

The two big ceramic caps up top are each in parallel with one ASIC. So measuring across each one gives each ASIC's voltage, and measuring between GND and the bottom cap gives total string voltage. That's where I'm probing during bench testing.

I don't quite like the silver heatsink as I'm too used to the green one, same goes for the blank frontside pcb. Not a big deal but I don't like changes too much

The plain silver heatsink is because my regular supplier of heatsinks wasn't gonna be able to provide a bid until March, and after the procurement agent I handed the request to did a little bit of legwork and then forgot about the whole thing, I just bought a bunch of cut-to-length on short notice and got a guy drilling them out here in the shop. Nothing fancy, sorry. The blank side of the stick won't be blank on the production version. Both US and bitshopper versions have a full-logo silkscreen and whatnot like the original Compac, I just didn't care to do all the manual mirror-image edits for that layer in time for the prototype sticks.

OKay After a rocky start. I have a fully working start.bat file cgminer -o stratum+tcp://mmpool.org:3333 -u philipma1957.A --gekko-compac-freq 225 --gekk0-2pac-freq 200-p x I set the 1 chip to 225 and the 2 chip to 200 see below

The two-chip shipped with voltage set for 100MHz stable. Looks like you need to turn it up, getting ~100 errors per minute. Should level out to 22GH, about 300WU

yeah when I saw the photo I realized it. So the + screw was like this X I turned it to + or from 10:30 to 12:00 it is now much more stable. and imgur.com is down I have 6 photos will post later. Stud hub with 2x usb2 for the 2pac. I can send it 2.2 amps at 5 volts = 11 watts I got compacs up to 400 freq with a fan on this hub and the doubler bridge I also burned a bridge doing 410 freq.

I will get meters out on Tuesday. Once you get these sticks going it makes you all the more angry that sidehack was not given chips and chip support from bitmain for the s7 chips and the s9 chips. Thanks to bit fury maybe we will see true monster sticks one day. The windows build was pretty easy once I got the link from vh. I had to load zadig but that is a one shot deal. One nice thing is this rig. Is running a gpu on xmr. The profit it makes will allow me to run the sticks for free. here is the rig with higher volts setting and also running xmr quite and cool

Ah sounds good, thanks for the clarification. Figured that it'd be this way but I wasn't sure. Not that big of a deal to me anyways, miners are miners Phil, this is the fan you're using, right? http://amzn.to/2kaGf8N Checked it out a while ago but I didn't know if it was good at all or not, might consider it after getting my 2pac.

So if you order that march 1 unit be sure to check and see that the numbers match on hashnest and bitmain as they should . Also if you purchased the s9 at the 917 rate ask for a refund of around 60 usd. I really would like to see and read if you got stuck and if they fix it. as a heads up coinbase is quoting btc at 960 usd
bitmain is quoting btc at 917
thus you lose about 65 dollars if you use coinbase.
Hashnest has coins at 956
since hashnest and bitmain share the same website and are under the same umbrella it is really fucking bad that they do not match Take a look

Thanks for the information & review Phil - your setup is VERY nice! I can't seem to find that USB bridge that you're using, which looks much more convenient than using x2 male - x1 female USB cables. Can you please let me know where to purchase those?

wish I did but they are no longer available. They came out back in the day of usb stick mining They are still available. Go on aliexpress and search USB Y cable and you can get em for a buck a pop. I ordered about ten of them from aliexpress and they're still shipping. No fear, all of this mining stuff doesn't ever go away
