Yes, the launch went smoothly and I was really happy to see people in the community joining the slack and helping other miners get started.  
We knew from day one that success means building a community of miners, artists, and listeners.  We are definitely on the right track.

And, speaking of community, I'm grateful for the enthusiasm about the project -- not just people hoping to mine quickly and dump.  We had multiple offers from early miners to donate coins back into the project fund so that we can move quickly into the next phase, which is to get more artists on board.  Brian Byrne has been helping a great deal with that (he's literally a rock star!) and people from the community have been reaching out to anyone they know in the music business.  

Hope to see more people join the slack and get involved.

the music industry has tramped for years with setting a lot of rules which only cost higher on consumption while generating little value to help musicians create more and better. Although smart phone boosted the portability and accessibility of content(like social media), it didn't unleash music very much due to those "wall".  Musicians should be able to control their license and listener should be able to pay for usages(one song, or a playlist, not a pricey subscription fee. Once this freedom achieved, people won't spend more time to searching pirated content any more, they spend little effort(a coin) to get a song, much less costly.

They even not trying to take advantage on mining themselves rather for letting early adopters do it for them.
Because of that a couple of whales even offered to the founders a chunk of MC for their fairness and focus on setting network right rather than being the first to mine.

Also all the recent updates you could see on their slack first.

No pre-allocation, no pre-mined coins, and team is poor to issue bounties until some further fund injected based on the further development.  The blockhcain is totally commons.

The issuance of currency is unlimited though, co-relating to music consumption in global market.
