Is there any bitcoin exchange or company?

Is there any bitcoin exchange in India which is registered with any Indian Government department or registered as a company under company law?
I am asking because if in some unlikely situation that these so called Indian exchange scam their users,can we bring them to book?

So yea you could pretty much throw a legal battle towards them if they just run away with your money or bitcoins.
This does not mean the govt. has allowed them to run a bitcoin exchange however they aren't doing anything illegal too.

Sure enough there could be a notification from govt body declaring that dealing with bitcoins is illegal and then we are doomed 

To official legalize Bitcoins we will need some amendments to exiting laws in India, which evidently is a very very VERY slow process.

Just a very hypothetical situation mostly you would know the scam done by Mr Anubhav Mittal from Noida worth 3700 crores  .

That is also a registered company and owner is being arrested. There were around 7 lakh registered users of that site so final question is that govt has freeze worth 500 crore of account and say even if they distribute at the end still they may not be able to recover 3700 crore so finally those people will suffer loss.

Same thing may happen just in case any of the exchanges blow away.

Agree, these exchanges don't have a lot of assets to recover from.
The liability of the directors is limited to face value of the amount of the share they hold.
Which shouldn't be more than 25 - 50 lakh and the value they hold from user in form of bitcoin or rupees is not less than 10 - 20 crores o.o

But the directors of these exchanges will get away without having to repay us from their personal assets.

Insurance is one way to go which Bitxoxo has claimed to have but never gave further details of it.

Lets assume any of these exchange pretend that they got hacked or get hacked genuinely and we held a significant amount in that exchange.
Then.. we are pretty much doomed, exchange files for bankruptcy, liquidator manages to repay nothing to creditors (we) of the company.

Its always better to take control of your coins shifting it paper or cold storage wallets.

It is always recommended not to use exchange wallet to store bitcoins , if you want to store then better use desktop wallet like electrum which is very light and fast in use, you just have to remember the passphrase to recover your wallet if any thing happen to your wallet.

And at the same time this all exchanges are just registered as a company and they have not got any licence to trade in Bitcoin so tomorrow any thing happens to the exchange no law can work on them.

If there is then they dont make a lot of noise. For example a registered forex trader may "legally" trade in Bitcoins. Apart from them whoever are in the Bitcoin scene as proprietors are mostly using Bitcoin as a store of value rather than a mode of exchange (like a currency).
